  1. Hello all! I'm thinking of where I should continue and go about getting my degree in Nursing and what's the best way to go about it. I did go to a community college in California, but my grades were terrible. I was a horrible student, didn't know what I wanted in life. I moved to MN and took a year off school to decide what it is that I wanted to do. Went back to school and am currently doing well in my pre-requisites. I'm getting A's and B's for the required classes in my program. I'm wondering how I should go about to apply into any of the schools. Will I have any chance at all? I currently go to MCTC and am trying to get into their Nursing program but a bigger part of me wants to try and apply to the U of M or St. Kate's. Are there Nursing programs pretty good? Any feedback would be super helpful! Thank you!
  2. Hello all! I recently got a job as a CVS Pharmacy Technician (with the program/training being free of course) and was wondering about a couple of things. If I do the training and finish to test, will I become certified? Or should I do a Pharmacy Technician program at my Community College for which they're offering just to back up my information? I only want to attain a certificate in this, because I realize it's within a health care setting and it would look great within my resume of experiences. I'll be doing my Nursing Pre-Req's as well since some of the classes tie in with one another. I just want to attain a certificate in Pharmacy Technician for the mean time while I'm still in school-- I would like to think it's something to fall back on before I go into Nursing School. What are some feedbacks from all of you? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! :)
  3. Technically no. I was into Nursing from the beginning, felt discouraged and was looking into what other "healthcare" majors I was interested. Nursing still has my best interest at heart so now I will be going back into it-- full gear.
  4. I felt discouraged by it due to circumstances that were around me. I left California to go to Minnesota for a chance to start over and just better myself. Right now I'm doing well in my community college here
  5. Hello all! As cliché as this title seems, I wanted to gain some perspective from former nursing students and others. I used to live in California-- and attended San Joaquin Delta College. I had originally wanted to go into Nursing, but somewhere along the road, felt discouraged and with many other circumstances that followed, my grades were slowly dropping and I just gave up on Nursing seeing as I was unfit. After some time and thinking, I decided to venture out and move to Minnesota-- new start and I could allow myself to focus more on myself now. I really still see myself doing Nursing, and am thinking of either going into MCTC or Century College. I hear MCTC is well known for their Nursing Program and am thinking of giving it a go. However, I'm scared that they won't accept me due to the fact that I left Delta with a 2.2 Overall GPA and that the grades that I'm working hard for now won't count, and will be denied. Luckily I didn't take any pre-requisites for Nursing other than Chem, and I flopped on that while I was at Delta (never took it in MCTC yet but I want to!) Any feedback would be nice. I'm at a pre-quarter life crisis and have yet to achieve anything at 23. ):
