Me along with everyone in my Foundations class at UTA is drowning in stress and exhaustion! Every chapter is ridiculously long and impossible to read. Our professor hasn't given us much on what the test is like or any information whatsoever. If you've taken N3632, please help!! I'm so worried about the exam. Thank you!!

Hi guys! I just finished taking the HESI a few hours ago. I was super super nervous about it so I'm overall happy with my score. I began focusing on studying for the HESI about a month before the test and studied about 1-2 hours each day. The sections that I took were Reading Comprehension, Math, Vocabulary, Grammar, and Anatomy and Physiology. Overall, I received a score of 91%!! I was extremely pleased with my score due the to fact that I initially felt like I hadn't given myself enough time. Honestly though, I think about a month to two months is all you need (if you are able to solely focus on HESI). Anyways, enough of my blabbering, here are my study tips and advice: 1. Buy the Elesevier Study Guide book! Besides the science sections, everything you need to know is in that book! 2. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY! Practice makes perfect if and even if you think you know how to solve and answer a question, go back and review. 3. Look up reviews and practices questions on quizlet. There are thousands of quizlet sets out there to use! EXAM REVIEW: Reading Comprehension: 94% This sections is super easy, especially if you study up on the Elsevier study guide. Also, take practices tests!! The ones that I've listed, the questions are very similar. Some questions that I noticed were tricky were the "implying" types of questions. They give you 2 types of answers that could be right but they trick you with adding facts that are relevant but aren't discussed in the paragraphs. Also, know how to draw conclusions, find the correct summary, and use context clues to figure out the meaning of the word. Overall, this section was pretty easy. Just make sure to take your time and read the questions carefully. Math: 94% This section was also extremely easy. Still though, make sure to review the study guide and do the sample questions/practice test. The HESI exam included a lot of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. There were also a lot of conversion types of question ( mL to TB, Kg to g, ounces to gallons, etc. ) as well as ratio questions(ex. 4:x::30:100). One other thing to study up on is reading in military time. For some reason, those test questions got me a little confused. Besides that, the other types of questions were extremely easy and even the word problems were probably 7th grade level questions. Vocabulary: 91% STUDY THE ELSEVIER STUDY GUIDE! 90% of the vocab words asked on the exam came from the book. I would suggest writing them out on flash cards and study them whenever you have a few minutes of free time. They even have examples and vocab/definitions on quizlet that you can look up and study. The words that I didn't know, I was able to figure out with context clues. Grammar: 88% First thing you guys should know is that I'm the worst at grammar. Finding clauses and predicates and whatever else is just not my thing. Luckily, there was only one or two of those problems. Most of the questions consisted of putting the correct word in a sentence, finding the correct sentence, and finding what part of the sentence is grammatically INCORRECT. I'm pretty sure I messed up in the beginning because I read the question wrong so that's why my grade is and 88. There were a lot of questions that included their/there/they're, further/farther, who/whom, was/were, etc. The study guide was really helpful in explaining that so you guys should take a look if you're confused or unsure! Anatomy & Physiology: 88% This section was what I was most nervous about. It's hard to say what to study for besides study for everything. The Elevesier study guide is too broad on the subject so you definitely need to go over class notes and study more in depth into each section. Some questions were pretty broad but there were a lot of specific questions that you needed to know. Know how the heart works, bones and how they are made, histology, the endocrine system, and the joints. Listed below are some of the things I used to help me study. They are extremely helpful and I'm pretty sure I would've failed with out it! I think that if I studied more, I could've had a better grade but still, I'm happy with my score! I knew about half of the answers of on the exams just from watching Hank Green in Crash Course! Hi, so I'm trying to get into UTA's nursing program. HESI scores are due January 1st. Currently, I am at north lake college. They have a HESI A2 exam at the south campus but it says on the website that it's for the ADN program. I want to get into the BSN program so I'm not sure of what to do! I'm assuming that I shouldn't take that exam but I have no idea where to take the exam. I've been looking everywhere and I'm just not sure. Any help is appreciated, thanks!!
