Call Off Policy?
I am not disagreeing; however, I am just picking up on flaws in that system. Hence why I am asking what has worked elsewhere in order to prevent unnecessary, frequent calloffs, but also to protect patient safety in the case of genuine illness.

ICU Nursing vs. ED Nursing?
I know it is all individual preference, just like to see others experiences so I have a mental list to look for and compare. I have already shadowed ICU and plan to go to ER, as well. I just know I won't see everything in a few days of shadowing, so figured why not ask others about their own experiences!

Call Off Policy?
My hospital currently has a "point system" for calling off of work, forgetting to clock in/out, showing up late, etc. After receiving so many points, the supervisor has to take action, place the employee under specific supervision with inability to leave the unit/facility for a period of time, and places that person at risk of termination. I have seen a large majority of coworkers come into work sick, when they should certainly not be caring for ill individuals, directly because they are concerned with accumulating points and consequently being reprimanded for it. I am curious, what other facilities have implemented for calling off? What seems to work elsewhere and why? Has anyone else experienced issues with the point system?

ICU Nursing vs. ED Nursing?
I have been involved in medical surgical nursing for a few years now and contemplating what my next move should be. I am well aware ICU and ED are two entirely different departments and both have pros and cons; however, before narrowing down my search to one specific specialty, I thought I would ask the masses who have experienced both ICU and ED: which did you like more? Why? What did you not care for? Why?

Where to find used scrubs?
Hello everyone! My hospital recently switched to an all black dress code, so I am required to go out and get new scrubs; however, do not have to money to spend on a bunch of new ones. Does anyone have any recommendations besides goodwill for used scrubs? Or does anyone know of someone trying to sell some of their old ones? I'm a size small and prepare fitted, flared, and women's cut scrubs. Cherokee, Greys Anatomy, Life, and Butter - Soft are some of the brands I like to gravitate to. Thanks for your help everyone!
