  1. Hi badtothebanana! Congrats! Looks like we will be coworkers Which unit will you be on? Yes, please lmk if you need a roommate or know of a good area to look for housing! I have never been to this area before.
  2. Hi BSW applicants! I was offered a position in the MICU at the Temple location. Anybody else that accepted an offer from Temple? If anyone needs a roommate please let me know! I will be relocating from Hawaii
  3. Hello Indiana! I'm thinking of applying to a position in the ICU at Clark Memorial Hospital. I'm hoping someone who works/worked there can tell me more about this place. What do you like/dislike about working there? Is the ICU staff supportive of newbies? Any info would be much appreciated! :)
  4. Thanks murse! I'll definitely keep Seattle in mind. My problem is I have no paid or volunteer healthcare experience whatsoever so I hope I can at least find something like an aide position for the last 6 months of nursing school
  5. Congrats! I know this is somewhat off-topic, but did you have some sort of healthcare work experience when you applied to the nurse residency program in CO? I'm worried about not being able to get a job after I graduate I would be willing to apply anywhere in the country, but have been hearing that it is hard everywhere.
  6. Thank you! I did not actually turn the oxygen on for my last patient, so now I know! I am now a better nursing student thanks to you all :) So is this something that is done only before a patient is placed into the room? Every shift? Once/day? Or does it just depend on the hospital? PS - just realised I should have placed this into the nursing student help forum - sorry!
  7. I'm in my 3rd semester of nursing school, so I feel like a complete tool for asking this, but what exactly does it mean to "check O2 and suction at the bedside" (ex: for a seizure patient)? Does it mean to actually turn the oxygen on to make sure it's working, and attach tubing to the suction and make sure it's on the right pressure? Or is it just looking and making sure the devices are there? Too ashamed to ask my teacher and fellow students this, so thank you! LOL
