Hello Everyone! I am new to this site. I have always loved the medical field since I was about 4 years old. I've always wanted to become a nurse but I did not take the traditional steps. I recieved my MA diploma from Remington College in 2007 which I attended right after high school. I became a MA so that I could work in the medical field while I go to school to become an LPN. Well it didn't happen that way. Before I entered the course the advisors told me how this was a great field to get my feet wet in, how I was gonna find a job soon as I graduated, & all the sweet stuff they thought I needed to hear. Being young with no one to check this out I fell for it. Anyway fast forward to 2015 I still haven't worked as a Medical Assistant. Because of other unfortunate events that took place over the years I haven't enrolled into a LPN program either. The past few years ive worked as a Resident Assistant at an Assisted Living facility. I obtained my CNA license recently & now I am financially stable to go to school to become a LPN. When I graduated from Remington they did not tell me that I could sit for the CMA Exam or the Phelebotomy Exam. Now years later Im wondering if I can stI'll take these exams even though I haven't worked in that field and I graduated over 7 years ago? I would like to work in this field while I'm in nursing school and also I don't want my MA diploma to be a complete waste of money. I'm sorry this topic is so long but I just wanted answers from people who may have this same experience. Also I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right fourm, excuse me if it's the wrong one!
