  1. Excellent! Thats what im looking for. Hopefully the trend will continue.
  2. So, aside from the difficulty securing clinicals- how is the market for ACNP's there? Are they utilized in the hospital setting to your knowledge?
  3. Hey all, Trying a different track here...my last post may have been a little to specific (ACNP in the ER/Trauma) and got zero hits. I would love to hear from folks that know about Washington State, Specifically SeaTac & spokane areas. I am in a BSN program in Texas, Wife in Military- we want to leave the heat and want to move to the pacific northwest when i graduate. Looking at Seattle-Tacoma or Spokane. I want to work in a hospital setting, I would. Wondering how those areas are utilizing ACNP's? ER? Procedures? (chest tubes, Central lines, suturing...etc) I was going to contact the BON for WA and ask...but I dislike cold calling. Appreciate everyone!
  4. Hey gang! Currently im in the UTHSCSA (San Antonio, TX) BSN program- first semester nursing student. Im trying to road-map the future of studies, loan payments and the like...so bear with me. Originally I had it in mind to become a CRNA, as I was a surgical tech in the USAF. More and more i have more of a fast paced practice in mind. Was talking with one of our instructors, he's a clinical nurse specialist- worked mostly trauma/ER. This really caught my attention. Heard the "winds of change" may be blowing the way of NP's in the future (from CNS), hopefully will get some clarification soon- the immediate former president of the AANP is on faculty here at UTHSCSA, hoping to set a meeting with him soon to get his take on the future. Anywhoo... Ok, am actively looking at ER, through the FNP path to (hopefully) eventually end up on a trauma team. Was looking at ACNP, but Ive heard that your "hireability" can be limited as you may not be able to see peds cases. My wife and I are looking to move to Washington state after she retires form the USAF. Looking for some clarification from those who are actively working in ER/ED/trauma in the state of Washington if possible. 1- Am i on the right path for WA? Or should i go CNS? 2- Is FNP the "way to go", or should i go ACNP? 3- Thoughts on the goal? thanks, Shane

  6. P.S.- Accepted! See you all there (maybe not CoolBeans7 if the 11th goes their way).
  7. All you do is lose the seat fee ($250 for in state) when you then withdraw from UTHSCSA.
