  1. I do have a study group, I study supper hard & I have an idea of what its about. We just started this topic today, so actually I'm on top of it. I just want to get prepared in advance, it's just the way my school question's, similar to nclex. My school is very strict on the way they exam you, an 80% on each test. We just started on specific gravity, mucturation reflex, urinary retention, how to access patient, how to treat incontinence so on.
  2. Anyone know what this consists of? I'm struggling on what exactly I will need to learn. Can someone please help me understand this unit? I feel like I'm all over the place? I'm willing to study hard but I'm having trouble. I'm currently taking Nursing 1, I really have a passion to help people & I'm willing to take time off work to be successful this time. I just need to understand the trick's on knowing how to not go to deep into a question. I seem to overthink my question's, please help someone! I will be graduating with another degree this semester but I think I told myself id give myself another chance in Nursin. I think I have what it takes to become a wonderful nurse, so I told my self I'd try my best & if god allows me, I'll survive all the struggle's.
  3. I need tip's to be successful in the P.N program, I was already forced to withdraw & I really can't afford to take the course again. I failed catheter procedure & my biggest problem was not knowing how to maintain sterile. I also need to know what are the best book's out there that will make me rock. I already have a few but I would rather hear it from expert's. Please let me know what book's have worked for all you successful Nurses? Any study tip's & way's to pass ? I really want to get my LPN & continue my dream's. Nurses where I work believe that I would make an excellent Nurse.
  4. Wow! :) You really amaze me! I'll do it all because everything you said is outstanding! You are so right, I'll do anything & everything. I really want it & I work hard every single day. I'm determined & I'll do what it takes. I liked your idea about the sterile kit & plan to purchase it (urgently) I will use lab for practice & take anxiety meds, although the ones I just got get me sleepy. I only took two & stop taking them. But I have to train myself to take them every day so they can work. From now on I'll go to lab feeling like I'm on top of the world. Thank you
  5. Actually I've never been an unsecured person! I've always been confident, until I joined Nursing! Ever felt like you want something so so bad that you over study. I've always wanted to become a Nurse & I know damb well that I will make it. The course is intense & I might have to do what many other's do! Take anxiety MED's so stay calm. Being able to stay above the sky & act calm, performing my test outs in a relaxed way. I know I'll be successful!
  6. Yes. Maybe your right. I've always been a confident person until I got into Nursing. Maybe it's just my imagination, all I can say is that I studied very hard on my skills & it felt like as soon as I broke sterile, I was told that I had failed. It didn't even get a sec to say I broke it. I did hear many students say they they kinda just verbalized everything, so that's what u tried doing on my third chance, but I didn't pass. I wasn't the only one, it was four other student's too.
  7. Yes,, that's why I'm still in class. My instructors are lovely. That's just how I feel so I don't think I have excuses. I do think I look small to be a nurse but my disability won't block me from trying. I could of dropped but I didn't. I'm learning & still hanging in there.
  8. Maybe, I shouldn't have pointed out that I have a disability, I was diagnosed w add but was never treated for it cuz my parent's weren't aware of it back in the day. The meds give me side effects that make my heart race, the feeling is aweful when I test. I just have to think positive that everything will be alright. At work all the nurses love me because I overwork myself & never say no to a task. I love the feeling of helping people & care for other's. I lost my father when I was 18 so I like to help people & dream of becoming a nurse.
  9. Yes, I have been working really hard on my skills & its hard not to break sterile. So next time I'll be an expert. I'm short 4.9 f & look really young but I'm actually older. I'm a super hard worker & work as a C.N.A in many different facilities but Nursing is just different. Thanks for your advice.
  10. At first, I was lost to hear that I wasn't able to attend clinicals due to the fact that I broke sterile for catheterization. It was my third chance so I studied very much. But for some reason every time I tested, I felt strange because I felt too short to look like a nurse. It could be just my immagination. I did mention i broke sterile on my last chance but they didnt buy it. What amazed me is that i didnt cry i just asked what my options were? I'm a grown women that has four children. I just feel as if they think I look too young to be a nurse, even though I'm already 30. I decided to not drop & fix something so I stayed in the program even though I have to repeat next semester. So I don't know if next time I'll have the capacity of passing. I was also told that maybe some anti- anxiety meds will help. I'm afraid that I'll be too discouraged for next time. But I'm glad I can still learn from my mistakes & to use this as a motivation. Im a very strong person & have to break fears.
