  1. I applied to a hospital in Flordia from Ohio and after two telephone interviews I was made a offer pending my getting licensed in Florida. So from my experience the telephone interview was a great sign. Hospitals do them alot because that is how traveling nurses get hired. As for the NCLEX I do believe they offered a afternoon session. When you get your ATT you can go online and see when they have open dates and times and you can check more then one locartion at once. Hope this helps you
  2. Hello to all current and future Christ students. I just grad from there in July. Hope all is well in the new program. The school is great and they have a really high pass rate for the NCLEX (they work hard to prepare you). If you have any questions just ask
  3. Hey kind of sounds like we went to the same school. I had to finish my questions (I had 2000) so I could take my HESI exit retake before graduation. I was also getting nervous about my scores on my pratice questions because they were low plus before I took the NCLEX (on 8/3) I was doing pratice questions and getting down to two choices and was choosing the wrong one. I was really starting to doubt myself. So here are my words of wisdom: YOU KNOW THIS STUFF even if you are getting the questions wrong focus on the rationale and the thinking behind the question. This is part of your studying thats why they have us do the questions because it helps you with your critical thinking skills. Take everything one step at a time. Finish your questions first. If you have to retake your HESI exit then do that. Allow a couple hours a day to study and do review questions. Don't stress yourself out trying to study every hour of the day. You still have time before the your ATT will be issued (once you finish the schools requirements) mine took two weeks after graduation and that is because I called them. Once you get your ATT and schedule you date them step up the studying but still allow time to rest. The day before the test relax during the test relax if it seems confusing stop take a breath close you eye when you open them things will seem much clearer. I did that alot during my test and I passed and so will you. Wish you luck
  4. [since you seem to have some time before the move check out pre- construction. OK what is pre-construction and since my husband will be back there on Monday where could he go to check it out.
  5. Ok I have no problem staying at the hospital when they need me but to travel in a hurricane and put myself at risk will not help anyone. The first thing they teach you in a CPR class is before you walk up to help anyone is to make sure it is safe to proceed because you can't help anyone if you get hurt yourself . Thanks for the info.
  6. Thanks everyone for their information. I have alot of thinking to do. Does anyone know of what type of hiring bonus are offered in the area (if any). Thanks again
  7. I live in Cincinnati Ohio and I am in my last year in nursing school. Graduation date July 06 I will stay here to finish my schooling. My husband has been working in West Palm Beach for the past two months (they fly him home on the weekends) now they want to offer him the Job. We don't know what the full package will offer (time in the company apt, amount for moving expense, etc) but the raise is $23K. New nursing grads in Cincinnati make about $18-19 shift diff is about $4. What is the pay for new grads in palm beach county? What are the hospitals down there? I have looked at the Memorial Healthcare Systems website. Does anyone have any infomation about them? How is the cost of living there. I have looked at websites that conpare cost of living in different cities and they say there is just a $10K difference between the two cities. How is the school system. I just need as much infomation as you all can give so we can make an informed decision.
