  1. Thanks for your response Bell1962! I appreciate it!
  2. Hi Everyone! Wondering if any clinic nurses can weigh in with advice for the 2 questions below!! I am currently the only RN in a multi dr family practice. 1. What do you use/how do you do infant measurements (i.e. length and weight). Does anyone use a measuring board or a combo scale/length? Or just a scale for weight and then length done on the exam table? 2. For point of care glucose measurements what does your office use? Just the standard glucose meters pts get or the very expensive ones geared for medical offices? We won't be doing it very frequently, but wanted to get one for the office to use just in case. I appreciate your insights! Thanks!
  3. Congratulations!!! I started a primary care job a few months ago and love it 😀. What kinds of things did they say you'd be doing? That might be a good place to start? One thing I took some time to review before starting my job was immunizations as that wasn't something I had encountered much in my previous jobs but I knew I would be with this one! I don't have to do it currently but I've heard a lot of primary clinic nurses do telephone triage. Will you be doing that? If so maybe you could look up some protocols for that? I feel like I've heard people mentions triage books in these forums but I could be wrong!! Or you could also try to think about what you might need some refreshing on? I.e if you mostly worked with adults before, taking some time to review paediatrics-assessment, normals etc? Just some thoughts! Congratulations again 😀.
  4. Thanks Klone! I appreciate your response! Out of curiosity. What sort of things do you do with "service recovery". Is it just talking to them to explain the delay etc?
  5. Hello! I am the only RN in a multi Doctor family practice clinic. I'm also the first nurse that has worked there so we are creating my role as we go. I was wondering what kind of things other nurses were doing in similar settings? Looking for ideas of the kinds of things that we could explore as part of my role! Thanks!!
