  1. Thanks for the comments, I will look into IT jobs in the area.
  2. Hello, I am 39 and am feeling called to nursing. I have had this feeling for a few years now and lately, with my dad going through chemo, it is very strong. I have re-enrolled in school and am taking a couple classes this semester which I need before applying for the nursing program. I will be applying for the nursing program for next years fall semester. Here is my question. Currently I am an IT Manager (and the only IT on staff at the company) and I make a good salary, but am not happy. I feel I want to be a part of something bigger than myself and help others. If I get accepted into the nursing program, I know I need a plan as I would not be able to continue in my current role and go to school full time. I would need to find a decent paying part time job at nights, preferably in a hospital so I can get some hands on. My wife, a teacher, is supporting me in this, but I fear the financial strain this will put my family in for a couple years. I would like to hear from others who have done or is doing this, going back to school mid-life. What kind of job are you working and how are you handling the financial strain? Thanks!
