  1. I'm a newly graduated and Licensed CNA, getting my BLS (CPR & First Aid) Certification this upcoming week. I understand that a lot of Hospitals won't accept new CNA's, but I would like to add that I have a handful of resources to get in and am quite confident that I'll be able to. However, I'll be starting my Pre-Requisites at my local College for the RN Program in January, and I'm wondering what would benefit my schedule the most, and how I would be able to gain the most experience and knowledge whilst attending school. There are a few options open in the Hospital I'm apply to currently, and I'm curious as to which floors most CNA's who've worked in the field for a while prefer. Currently, my options are; CVICU 7A/7P; Coronary Care Unit, Full time Step Down/Progressive; Full Time, Nights Med/Surg; Full Time, Days Med/Surg; Full Time, Nights L&D (Labor & Delivery); PRN, Rotating To my surprise, I find myself drawn to Med/Surg and L&D the most. However, I'm unsure if I would be fit for the position. I do know that I would undergo a bit of training through the hospital so that I would at least have an idea of what to expect. Although as a new CNA, I'm partially terrified that I'm going to fault in all areas. I know that with practice makes perfect, and that I can't go in expecting to be perfect, but it definitely is a nerve-wracking experience. Any advice towards my newly started Career and Schooling, Field work, Etc. is greatly appreciated! ((I don't feel as if a night schedule would benefit me very much with balancing school and a social life on the side, and I wouldn't want to flip flop my schedule and become a hermit due to work, (Which is way too easy for me to fall into.) but I will still consider doing nights if it can allow me to have more free time and/or will benefit me in a way that a day shift cannot.))
