My gf cut her finger in the kitchen last night, after one look at it, I immediately said she needed stitches. (At least I made a quick decision and was good in crisis mode!). I was fascinated and watched them stitch her up. I had no issues with what I was seeing, but all of a sudden I felt nauseated and light headed and had to sit down because I almost passed out. The NP had me lay in the bed also, gave me juice until my color returned and I felt better. Now I've been having these terrible thoughts that maybe I don't have it in me for Nursing if I almost passed out just from watching 3 stitches?! My hope and thinking is that you get more used to it when you see things time and time again?! I am a current chiropractor that is unhappy with the field and have never had to deal with bodily fluids other than in cadaver lab (no problems at all). I am really excited to start Nursing school in the Fall, but am now worried that I may not be cut out for it even if it's on a subconscious level?! Can anyone give me peace of mind please? Just got a letter that I was accepted for Salisbury Accelerated Second Degree Program for Fall 2016. Today is 01/29/16 and they want me to send back the letter telling them if I intend to attend or not by February 5, 2016?! I'm excited and happy that I got in, but I have a week to decide? And I won't be hearing from my other schools for awhile (especially since UMSON was just due Feb. 1). Anyone else having this issue or heard of anything like this? Any advice would be great too? I know it's a great program, but I want to make an informed decision after I receive the rest of my acceptances/rejections from other schools. Thanks in advance!
