  1. Just wondering what the billing rates are if you are going out on your own instead of using an agency. Also, do you charge the hospital for housing IN ADDITION to your hourly pay or should you factor that into the hourly rate?
  2. I'm a pre nursing student and I asked like 7 questions and people have been on my back. Now what is the point of that? I even asked a question about being depressed and being in school and someone told me to quit complaining (we're going to assume that this person is in the field and not some troll) But why? Why bring down someone who is just trying to make better of their life?
  3. My degree is in a non scientific field. Plus my credits are old so I had to retake everything including a placement test for math. I don't care if you don't care about me. If that's the most important information you have to relay then stop posting on my questions and find causes you deem to be worthy of your inconsiderate time.
  4. I have had a very hard life. If I had family/friends that could help me I would be asking them and not a public forum. I will continue asking, I will continue to aspire to be more than I am today, hence my screen name "Upward_Bound". And to address your comment about instant gratification this is not it. I have an AA, BA several certs etc. I have been in school over 7 years full time (including summer) and now finished another year (pre nursing), 6 months of waiting to be accepted, then 2 years of study. How you consider that instant gratification or whining is beyond me.
  5. Hey ElkPark, I'm going to take the prereqs while I'm in nursing school. It's really the chem1, chem2, orgo and calc based physics that's holding me back at the time. So the prereq's would take me a year and half, and nursing school would take 2.
  6. Everyday I wake up just feels like a waiting game. I'm an adult but feel like I'm still waiting for m y relationship situation to work out, and to get an adult job. And when I start nursing school, its daytime, so what decent part time job can i get? I feel like I'll be an adult with a BA, but working part time at the mall on nights and weekends (which is what I did when I was a teen)
  7. So I'm about to get done with my application and I'm starting to get really depressed. 2 years seems like such a long time!!! BTW I already have a BA And it took me forever to get. I just feel like life keeps hitting the restart button on me
  8. Well you too must be pretty. I never get asked for anything lol (j/k)
  9. You must be really pretty, I never meet men anywhere.
  10. Thanks for asking. My undergrad GPA was not good. But my current GPA is very good. Guess I just didnt know what I had in me until I started researching and trying really hard.
  11. So I'm thinking of jumping ship. Either now or 2 years from now. For the MD's who started as RN's what is your experience?
  12. No this is not my reason for entering. Just a curious question. And if so... Do tell.
  13. Has anyone ever heard of a nursing anesthesia program overseas that you can work in the US with?
  14. Seems like we get most of the courses done anyway +2 Chemistries +1-2 Physics +2-5 Maths (College Algebra to Calc 2) +20+ Electives
  15. I amso SO SO SOOOO happy because I was able to raise my grade from 1 test!!! (both in anat and physiology) But I am also SOOO scared. It took like 20 plus hours a week on anatomy/p alone. Is nursing school harder than pre-nursing???
  16. I was wondering if anyone knows of any schools that offer Direct Entry will lower required GPA or least prerequisites.
  17. P.S I am no longer acknowledging personal attack style comments.
  18. 1. I don't have a family. (other than one who depends on me) 2. I tried this forum but people have been mean to me 3. I moved and don't know anyone here Where do you guys go to find support when things get rough? And thank the (few) of you girls so much, you've been more helpful than I could have imagined.
  19. And I don't know how a thread about jealous friends turned into a personal attack against me. You (most of you) are really hateful people.
  20. They are, as I have made this thread for that discussion. And so are YOU.
  21. If you used any common sense (which you clearly have none of) You'd realize that being 10 does not get you into college. Or my life experience.
  22. And thank you haters for making my thread the most POPULAR in this category. I appreciate it.
  23. I have not yet had a chance to read all the comments. I'll be commenting more in the days to come.
