  1. Hello everyone! I have been following along with this forum for awhile. I was accepted to UTMB nursing school (which is another great nursing school) for this summer 2016 and I just wanted to share my experience. I know for UTMB we had to do interviews which went very smoothly. My advice to some of you is to take the TEAS as well to have more choices. At first, I did not want to take the TEAS because I knew how hard the test was going to be. However, I did very well on the TEAS (I scored above advanced level on the TEAS). The TEAS is not difficult at all. I would really just study hard for it and buy the ATI TEAS study manual and the ATI practice test. I did apply for Spring 2016 for UTHSCH and I got waitlisted and I decided not to apply again for the summer since I already got my acceptance letter for UTMB. The way UTHSCH accepts students into their school is really confusing. Most schools have a point system. However, I am glad that I decided to take the TEAS because I had more options for nursing schools and I ended up getting accepted to three nursing schools and I applied to four nursing schools in total.
  2. Yayyyy!!! The Facebook page is up for our class! :)
  3. I live in Houston so I have been traveling back and forth to go look at apartments and condos in Galveston. The only trouble that I have been having is trying to find apartments that are available at the end of April or early May before school starts. I wish that the FB page was up for our class so that it could be easier for all of us to find a place or a roommate. I suggest those who are looking for a place to live is to look now and put your name on the waiting list.

  5. I just received my new student guide this afternoon through my email.
  6. I have not received a new student guide yet.
  7. Congrats to everyone who just got accepted! I can not wait to meet all of you at orientation! Does anyone know if they made a Facebook page for this class yet?
  8. I do not know how many applicants met the requirements for this application period. I was a first time applicant and my interview was on 11/12 and I got my acceptance letter 12/3. I know they are still doing interviews for all of the other applicants. Usually there are 3-4 waves of interviews.
  9. I wore a suit for my interview with a blouse underneath. A skirt suit is perfect for the interview as well. My interview was not intense at all. I felt very comfortable in my interview, so don't be nervous. I am sure you will do fine.
  10. From previous forums they said once they paid their deposit, there was not a green check mark anymore. I have not paid my deposit yet but I will be sure to tell you if my check mark is still there.
  11. Yay!!! I have been accepted as well! Congratulations to everyone who got accepted! I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!
  12. The person who interviewed me told me that I should hear something in 2-3 weeks. I did my interview on 11/12. I was hoping to hear before Thanksgiving or during the first week of December. I have been accepted to another nursing school but I really want to go to UTMB. Hopefully we all hear something from UTMB soon. I was reading the forum last year for Summer 2015 and their process is very different from ours. It seemed that those who were in the first round of interviews for Summer 2015 all got accepted. They also found out if they were accepted or not before Thanksgiving.
  13. I rescheduled my interview so I will be there on 11/12! Again, congratulations to everyone!
  14. I submitted my Nursing Cas application on September 2 and I submitted my supplemental application on October 2. I received the email for my interview around 8 this morning. From reading the summer 2015 and spring 2016 forum, it seems like they do their interviews in waves not all at once.
  15. Congratulations to you as well!!!
  16. Congratulations to you!!!
  17. Congratulations!!!!!! I set mine up for next Wednesday!
  18. Thank you so much!
  19. I just received my invitation for the interview! YAY! :)
  20. They told me the same thing. They also told me that they will be sending out letters for the interviews as they review the applications.
  21. I have not received anything yet either so you are not alone.
  22. Great! Thank you for providing us that information! I am just in the fifth week so I still have more time left.
  23. No you should not be worried. My essay had 715 word count. You should be fine. I did not put my essay in the supplemental application because I already put in the nursing cas application. Plus, I didn't want to cut the words off my essay. But in myStar my status shows as complete so they have everything.
  24. No I haven't had the time to call them. If I don't hear anything after this week, then I am going to call them Monday.
  25. You are not the only one. My status on myuth has not changed and I haven't received a letter yet. Hopefully, that is not a negative thing! But congratulations to everyone else!!!! :)
