  1. I used the the lecture power points, text books, and practice questions on evolve, which they will give you access to. In the beginning I studied pretty much every day for a few hours with a study partner. Mostly going through the power points, dissecting them and making my own little study guide type of thing. I would add key points from the book that weren't mentioned in class. I never read the chapters word for word, I would skim and read carefully the topics that were focused on. You will pretty much have an exam every week. After med surg and pharm it gets a lot calmer.
  2. yeah message me on here!
  3. Yeah message me on here!
  4. I'll be done in 3 weeks with the accelerated program if anyone has any questions!
  5. noon you don't! as long as they're the right color and have the logo you're good
  6. hi all! Im currently in the accelerated program so i just wanted to give you a little advice so you don't have the same inconveniences me and some of my classmates had... don't buy the uniforms from the bookstore, seriously, you don't need to buy them there they are ridiculously overpriced Blue angels across the street has all the uniforms including the lab coat (which you don't need) You can also get uniforms at Uniform Advantage and they will embroider the MDC logo for $10. They have some tops that only cost $10-12 so it comes out to about 20. you don't need the lab coat unless you want it for class or clinical i guess if you're cold. I use any old jacket for class (none of my teachers have cared) and I have a white zip up jacket for clinicals
  7. If its positive I would think it is fine. Mine wasn't positive it was equivocal.
  8. If anyone doing accelerated wants to join the FB group just search MDC Accelerated Nursing 2017 :)
  9. Did anyone have to get the MMR or varicella vaccine? I'm having a hard time finding a place that has it. My PCP and local pharmacies did not carry it.
  10. I tried to go to the mdc clinic but I need more than I anticipated. I need the varicella and my MMR titer values weren't high enough so I need that also. Im doing it with my doctor because it would be too expensive to do it at the clinic.
  11. Anyone thats doing the accelerated want to comment their email so I can make a fb group? It won't let me make it without adding at least one persons email
  12. If you just go to the American Heart Association website and search BLS there's a lot of places!
  13. It is required to have the logo. From what Ive heard you can buy the required colors and get the logo embroidered at the uniform store across the street which is called blue angels.
  14. Has anyone had their scrubs embroidered at blue angels? I heard they will put the logo on the tops. I bought the white tops at MDC but I already have green tops because of my current job.
  15. Hey! I was also accepted to the accelerated option. Does anyone for sure doing the accelerated option want to make a facebook group? I know some people haven't decided yet.
