  1. That is awesome! So happy for u! The long wait has ended!!! Lol
  2. Yay congrats!!!!!☺️
  3. Good luck to you and I'm pretty sure u passed! Hang in there you'll probably get it this week or by Monday for sure! Keep me posted!
  4. Hang in there! The waiting is actually the worst about this whole process than taking the test! Lol I'm pretty sure u passed' I got the good pop and it worked for me! To be honest there's some ppl who dnt believe in the trick but it was the only thing that kept me sane and gave me hope. But even tho you got the good pop up, you'll still be in denial at times because you want reassurance that you pass! Keepe posted when u recieve ur letter!
  5. Yes! Even tho that book is meant for RNs, there are questions for delegation and priority questions that help with those type of questions for nclex which I got a good majority of it on the test. I got the book on chegg.com for rental for $16
  6. Congrats to you!!! The best feeling in the world! ☺️
  7. You're welcome! But wow that's cool that they offer u guys kaplan for free! I was going to do kaplan but it was just too expensive! I think it will definitely prepare u got sure! Focus on your weak areas because nclex can pretty much ask u about anything so just be prepared...everyone's test is different. Peds I barely looked at but I had a few questiond on it same goes for maternity. Then again, I can be wrong u probably might not get any questions on those subject. Cuz one of my friend that took the test got majority of pharm do it can vary. Speaking of pharm, it's pretty much memorize not too difficult except there can be meds that u have never seen before so beware! Lol study the basics ones like you're beta blockers, ace inhibitors, psych meds, etc and knowing they're adverse effects. A huge part of the test as well is delegation and priortize. You'll see a lot of them. Get this book called delegation priortize and assessment from Lacharity. It's a life saver! Ooh last thing if you're not good at SATA questions (select all apply) make sure u practice that. If u have an iPhone or android download Nclex apps and do questions. They are called nclex QB and nclex mastery PN. Good luck!
  8. Omg you're almost done hang in there! Since u scheduled for Nclex in January and will be done with school soon...you should definitley practice nclex questions. Try to do 50-100 questions everyday day until you're test. If u have saunders book it comes with a code to get online to do questions which consist of 3,000 different format of questions through evolve. You have an advantage since you're taking the test right after school...so content u pretty much got down and now it's time for u to get an idea what kind of questions you'll be dealing with on nclex. I'll be honest, that test is like no other test I have ever taken. Nclex is so broad but if u prepare yourself by getting exposure to nclex type questions u should be ok. If u need a review course on content u should consider doing an online course such as Hurst (which I did) or kaplan but it's pricey. But that's up to u since you're finishing up school since and the material is still fresh in ur mind. So idk if a review will even be necessary but that's up to u. Pls take ur test Asap! Dnt wait or reschedule ur test a lot Cuz that's what I did and look I waited 2 yrs and wasted all that school and had to pay for a review to start from scratch. So pls pls pls...take it as soon as possible. Okay I sorry for the long essay lol but I know how u feel Cuz I was in the same shoes as u 2 yrs ago and I wished I did it the right way but hey...things happen. It probably wasn't my time and God wanted me to wait until I was ready which was now. Good luck and God bless!
  9. Thanks! 😁 good luck to u!
  10. i signed up for Hurst review which helped me with content a lot since I was out of school for 2 yrs and haven't taken the nclex yet. So I needed to know my content real good...but let's be honest we can't know everything in the short amount of time since my registration to test expired end of August so I had to take it soon.I basically study a month and half straight. I also used two books along with hurst. The first book was called Kaplan strategy book 2015-2016. It helps u how to break down and understand what the question is asking you plus how to eliminate answers. Very useful but the practice questions were really hard. The other book I used was a delegation prioritize and assessment book by Lacharity. This book helped me A LOT!!! I had a good amount of delegation and who to see first questions. A must have trust me! The last few weeks I focused on doing 100 questions through saunders evolve everyday and going over lab values. I stopped trying to study content cuz I know damn well it was just too late and I wouldnt be able retain any info. The day before my test I did not study one bit...I relaxed hanged out with friends. It pretty much calmed my nerves and my stress. I studied really hard...I took a month off of work to dedicate studying for nclex. Didn't help me financially but it was totally worth cuz I passed!😁 Hope this helps! Good luck and I know you'll pass! If I can do it u can too!☺️
  11. Thanks anyways for the information. I think my best bet is to meet with a recruiter. I'm gonna have my brother and my dad go with me since they were both in the service. However both my dad and brother were in the navy so they really can't tell how different the Air Force is but it's good to have support and they kinda know what the process is.
  12. So I just passed my Nclex pn on August 6th, 2015. I been planning to take the bridge program for RN probably a year from now because I wanna be able to get experience as an lvn. I also wanna join the Air Force as a reserve and go for my BSN-RN while serving. I was wondering if I can get advice if anyone who had experience going to the Air Force as an lvn and worked as one in the Air Force then later did they're RN. I wanna know what job can I get as an lvn? Am I placed as a higher rank because of my license? Do I talk to a regular recruiter or a health care recruiter if there is one? Pls help!
  13. I actually called last week and it was 3 weeks already since I took my test. I had to call to see when it was coming in cuz I couldn't take the wait any longer! Lol the person that I talked to told me they were working on August 6th results so I ahd to wait another week and I will receive it which is true Cuz I got it yesterday! 😁 Hang in there and you'll get yours soon too! I think while waiting, working on your resume and looking for jobs is a good start!
  14. Thank you! 😁But yes it was tough playing the waiting game for sure! I'm actually gonna drive up to the boards this week which is located in sacramento here in california to pay for my license and get s temporary one so I can start working asap! Ehhhh soo excited!
  15. Thank you so much! I'm finally an LVN! Ahhhh! Lol
  16. I took it in fairfield, CA! To be honest the test was a blurr...nclex is do broad u dnt know what to expect. But I do remember getting a lot of delegation and prioritization
  17. Yes I am! I hate that we dnt have quick results! Was really stressful waiting for that passed letter. Lol now I can officially relax
  18. Well coincidence or not I'm just glad I pass! The trick kept me sane for 4 weeks since where I'm from (california) we dnt have the quick results. So by doing this, took the stress that I was feeling. Plus majority of my classnmates and some family members of mine that pass and did the trick worked for them. But some ppl will not agree with me but thats okay.í ½í¸Š If you feel more comfortable waiting for your actual results to come in or doing the quick results then by all means do it! I definitely can understand that and this exam. Just makes ppl go crazy! Lolí ½í¸‚
  19. I did the pvt trick right after I tested and got the good pop up using a credit card with no funds in it. Got my results in today and I passed! The trick does work! Good luck to anyone who are planning to take the nclex! The hardest test I ever took😕 but anything is possible!☺️
  20. Yes after 2 yrs of graduating lvn school I took the nclex on Aug 6th, 2015 and I just got my results in today and I freakin passed first try with 205 questions and used all 5 hrs! Lol ahhh I'm still in disbelief that I pass...I for sure thought I failed. And yes the pvt trick works! Checked it after 5 min after my test and I got the good pop up! This has been a long journey and I needed to have faith in the lord and myself. Struggling to start over and study this exam after being out of school for 2 yrs. It took a lot of sacrifice and patience. God is good!🙏
  21. Got my results in today....I PASSED!!!!í ½í¸ The trick does really work!
  22. Hello nurses and future nurses! I always wanted to write a forum on here about my experience with nclex. I would come on this website everyday for advice or studying tips since I started LVN school back in 2012. So I finally got the chance of taking my boards yesterday 8/5/15 and decided to write my experience and what I used to study for this test. I been holding off on this test for 2 years! I was going through a lot **** so my plans on becoming a nurse was on hold. Fast foward to 2 yrs later, I decided I needed to make a change in my life and get on a better path so I made a promise to myself this year I was determine to take this test and finally become a lvn!☺️ So I took off of work for about month to dedicated my studies since I forgot everything I learned from school which i graduated in 2013 of October. I signed up for hurst online review which was great for content and that is what I needed. Plus the review was pretty easy to follow with the study guide that would go with the lecture videos on every topic u needed to cover. Other materials I used was Kaplans nclex pn strategy and practice review 2014-2015 book was a good tool for how to identify what the question was asking you. Also it helps you how to eliminate Between 2 answers. All in all I thought it was a good book to prepare for the test since Im really bad at test taking. Through lvn program I mostly maintain a C in all my class and was hardly getting A's on my tests. Mind you I struggled through nursing school. I had to take the school exit exam the (Hesi) twice! The first time I hardly study for that and that I was my fault but I made sure the second time I study really hard and I made sure to pass! Another book I used that I thought helped me the most was the prioritize delegation and assignment by Lacharity. This book is a must when taking a the nclex. I know this book is used mainly for RNs but there are good amount of questions for lvns and it help me on delegation and who to see first. I did questions everyday about 50-100. I used saunders online questions through evolve. Those help me with knowingt content as well. A week before my test I quit trying to review content due to the fact there was just too many things to learn and I can only retain so much. I didn't really go over maternity or Peds that much but I wish I did since I saw a lot of questions on them on nclex! Lol but anywho so I ended up just using Lacharity kaplan and do 100 questions until my test. On the day of my test I felt uneasy. I didn't feel ready I was scared that I wasn't prepared enough and that I would fail so I broked down crying like 30 minutes before my test. I got myself together prayed and pretty much ask God to give me the strength to get through this test whether I take all 205 questions or stop at 85 questions which is the minimum u can get. Once I got in I was less nervous...I knew I had no choice but to go through with it and pass!!! To my surprise I took the whole 205 test and used the 5 whole hrs! Lol I will tell u this...I felt like I did not know one single thing on that test and it was getting harder every question I got! I had 25 sata questions and a good amount of priority of who to see first and maternity and peds. Only got 2 or 3 math and No put in orders or hot spots. There were a good amount of psych questions and a lot of safety and infection control too. After I was done I really felt that I failed big time! So like everyone who has taken the test I tried the pearson vue trick anyways. After 5 min of trying to register...I got the good pop up! 😁😭I probably did it like 10 times yesterday and today I checked twice and still got the good pop up. I wnt be able to find out officially until I get it in the mail since california doesn't have the quick results. So to be honest you can never be ready for nclex. It's imposible trying to study for every single thing. It's not gonna happen and you just need to believe and have faith in yourself to pull through! Trust in the lord and you will succeed! It worked for me and I can honestly say with out him and the support of my family and friends that helped me along the way I wouldn't be able to go through with this. I will post up another forum once I get my official results! Good luck to anyone who is preparing for this exam!
