Pearson Vue Trick--trick no more
ok, finally got my NCLEX results after 5 long weeks!! I passed. I tried the PVT and it did give me the good message as I previously reported on this message string. I left the test feeling confident I passed, but as the weeks passed, I started doubting myself. I tried the PVT 3 weeks after I took the exam on 7/14. I called the BRN twice, what a nightmare, to try and get my results and got no cooperation until after week 4, but still they couldn't tell me anything, but passed me on to someone's voicemail, who was supposed to get back to me. I was panicking a I need my license to finish my BSN program this fall. As the deadline for my license is looming, my BSN director made a phone call to the BRN and the next day I had my license. Not only that but our BRN rep called me personally to congratulate me!! Several students in our BSN progam were in the same boat as myself. However, I think our school was motivated to help us because no students, no tuition, no payroll, no job...I think that was my directors motivation, as the BRN does NOT call you to congratulate you on passing the NCLEX!! Anyhooow, another good tidbit to know is, if you have a misdemeanor or ticket or anything in your background, this will hold up your license as your file will go to "enforcement" for yet another review before they issue you your RN license. I confirmed that twith the BRN rep that called me. So patience, patience, patience,...

NCLEX-RN - PASSED on first try!
I too passed on the first try, but due to the BRN in California and it's notoriously slow processing, I waited 5 weeks to finally see my license posted on the BRN website. I want to pass on also that I had a misdemeanor on my record. I spoke with a BRN representative and confirmed that even after you take the NCLEX and pass, the BRN will not give you your license until your records/paperwork are reviewed AGAIN by "enforcement". Once reviewed and approved by "enforcement" the BRN will give you your license. I suspected that is why my license was so slow in coming, but it was nice to have this fact confirmed and pass on this infor to the rest of you still waiting for your NCLEX results. Also, my study habits for the NCLEX included taking any available comprehensive test from Saunders, Lippincott, Mosby, & Hesi. I also did Hesi Adaptive quizzing on line (my ADN program used HESI tests and it was part of our curriculum along with Saunders and Lippicott). If I felt weak in an area I could make a custom quiz with the Hesi Adaptive. Hesi and Mosby questions were the most difficult, but you are still learning from the rationales if you get a question wrong. My ADN program prepared us well with difficult exams and a rigorous program. I breezed through the NCLEX and walked out feeling confident that I passed. Good luck to you all on your NCLEX, I wish you all success!

Writing Explanation Letter (criminal hx) For Nursing Board
Yup, done this, twice now...once for my LVN and again for my RN. What they want to read is that you learned from the mistake, not a bunch of details trying to defend yourself because, in my opinion, that can sound as if you are NOT sorry or do not believe you made an error in judgement at that time. They read a billion of these letters and I think they are looking for words of reconciliation, admission of guilt, what you learned from the mistake and what you plan to do different in the future to avoid this mistake again. I hope this helps, I know these letters often bring up old feelings and maybe you were treated unfairly in that situation, but don't come across bitter. Good luck. Marsbars

Pearson Vue Trick--trick no more
From the many recent posts I've read regarding the PVT, for 2015 you must input your credit card information and hit "submit". 2014 may be and appears to have a "pop up" before the cc page. There now is NO pop up, just a message in red lettering with and exclamation point at the top of the page saying you "You have recently scheduled this exam, another registration cannot be made at this time." This message is supposed to be indicative of a passing score on the exam. I took the exam on 7/14/15, still waiting for results. I tried the PVT, but used a different expiration date and got the above red lettered message...hope this is good news, will let you all know my results:-)
