  1. I have been looking for information through other posts but all of them seem to be relatively old. Basically I am trying to decide what the best road to nursing school is. I have a B.A. in Psych already, and want to become a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I was looking into going to a local community college for my R.N. because it is so much more affordable and I would love not to rack up any more student debt then necessary. Is this a good idea? I have been having a hard time finding schools for a masters that would accept an RN without a BSN. Would it make me less competitive having an R.N. from a community college when looking for a job, or would my B.A. help me in any way? I just need some advice from people in the field/anyone who is looking into the same thing. I want to work with the military community in the long run. Thanks so much!
