  1. I need some advice fellow nurses. I just had a interview for a seat into the CCU transition program at my employer. Let me first start by saying how gosh darn ticked off I am!!!! I have three and 1/2 years experience on Telemetry with ACLS cert and ecg interpretation knowledge. I interviewed well and was passed over by a fellow peer (whom I respect) that has none of the exp that I gained on the telemetry floor. She is med/surg and been a nurse a bit longer than I have about 7 years I'm guessing. This is the scenario, the CCU patient care director is notorious for hiring RN's with ZERO to bare minimum knowledge.. I wanted to be a CCU nurse for the past two darn years and waited patiently for the right moment and this happens. I was almost certain that I had a shoe in. My own manager said I was ready for that position, so what gives? I was 20 minutes early for the interview, resume was complimented by the CCU patient care director, AND I Took NOTES!! Asked questions, answered all interview questions with assertiveness and confidence. I need advice how to handle this situation!!!!!!! What should I do? Has this happened to anyone else?
  2. Hi congrats, hope to be in your position some day. I just enrolled in the RN-BSN program there starting this Sept. If you don't mind me asking, How did you do in regards to your GRE/GPA/and what was the interview like? Was it crazy intense? Did you feel like you stumbled on any questions?
  3. I currently have an ASN from Laboure back in 06 when the credits were $375/credit; now it's something like $675 or so. At NEU where I plan to start my RN-BSN program, cost just $310/per credit. To each his/her own, but you really need to do the foot work and reseach the individual schools to see which best fits your needs in regards to pre-requisites, location, clinicals, cost, etc. You may like what another may not. Good luck in your journey.
  4. I went to Laboure and graduated in 06. The uniforms are medium to dark blue. Pretty decent I think. But hope that helps.
  5. Yes, I must admit, I was one of the thirty four or something that viewed the post but didn't reply. I viewed twice to actually see IF anyone had the same situation. But anyhow, i'm glad that you asked that question. I myself am an RN-ASN. I will be attending Northeastern Univ for the RN-BSN program this January. I have gone through this site via SRNA/CRNA/ and pre-CRNA inquiry forum researching questions like that with a few questions of my own all about the field. I have at least 4 years to apply to the CRNA program granted that all requirements have been met. To become a CRNA has also been a dream (an unrealistic one at times due to family responsibilities) of mine since even before I started nursing school. So this is what I have been doing to better prepare myself: First I started studying vocabulary words from a GRE book, so that I do extremely well on the GRE exam since I have plenty of time, and secondly, I plan to start saving $300/month to start off with towards the cost of living expenses (for when the time comes I will be ready to go). I want it that bad that I'm working towards this long term goal early on. I live in the Boston area so there are only two schools in MA that offers this program. Boston College and Northeastern univ. I hope my two cents have helped. Good luck.
  6. Hi there, just wanted to ask what kind of gpa/gre scores did you have? How was the interview process what kind of questions did they ask? How long did it take before you even heard from the university that you were invited for an interview?
  7. Hello there, I also was interested in applying to Northeastern when I get my BSN, right now I only have a ASN. Did you get accepted or still awaiting a response? I wish you luck in getting in there. Did you get your BSN there also? How did you do on the GRE and gpa overall, what field of nursing exp. do you have? I currently work on a Telemetry floor which is required prior to applying to the CCRN position at my hospital where I work!
  8. Hello, This message is for anyone who is currently a student or recently graduated from Northeastern Univ CRNA program. I've applied to the RN - BSN program at Northeastern, but my long-term goal is to apply within 4 years. What are considerable GRE scores for the program, and how many hours do they allow you to work? Any Info is helpful. Thank You
  9. Does anyone, have any information or is currently a student at the Boston College or Northeastern University CRNA Program!! I'm interested in that field. How was the GRE exam, and how is the program itself? Are you able to work at the same time? I'm currently a senior at a ASN Program at Laboure. Thanks
