  1. I got a 70% on my TEAS. I had no where else to take my test sadly. My only choice was at home with the whole family here. Fingers crossed!
  2. I have mine scheduled for 8/28/2020. I needed to take it a week further later but they won't let you. I got accepted to take the HESI at SBVC for fall 2020. However, they did not tell us it was proctored until the evening before the test, setting it up and contacting the proctor help tesk took all night. I did not go to sleep until 2am and woke up at 5am. I sadly scored a 74%. Plus, they had Chemistry on the exam when it was suppose to be excluded but the new admissions director did not know this so we still had to take it. Some people got to take the test 2 weeks later because they had computer problems. I was a few points shy of getting in. They also took less students then they usually do. I don't know how California expects to account for all the nurses retiring and leaving the field if we can not even get into a program. I am not willing to pay over 100 thousand to get my RN license. I really hope I do good on this TEAS exam, I already get test anxiety. My home is not a good testing environment. Good Luck!

It states if you received a score to disregard. I think some students had computer programs and were not able to complete the exam so they did not receive a score. Maybe their internet went out or could not take it at all. I did the ProctorU compatability test and had to upload something. Maybe they did not do that part. Hopefully we find out something by next Monday or Tuesday Any one hear any thing yet? Its been 18 long long days!
  6. Hello future RN students, I could not find a thread for the Spring 2021 bridge program. This is my first time applying for this college for the RN program. I applied for SBVC for Spring 2020 but was denied. My ADA at my employment did not sign my employment verification letter, add a header or sign it. I submitted in the envelope she gave me it in. Other wise they stated I had every thing I needed to apply for their program. I actually applied the Fall 2020 program with them. I took my HESI but did not do as well as I wanted. Taking it at home with a Proctor was more stressful and we were not told to sign up for the proctor until the evening prior. I slept mayne 4 hours that might before having to take the test at 8:30 am. It has been over two weeks and we still do not know who has gotten in. Some students were not able to take the test so they had them take it yesterday and today. Hopefully we know by next week. There has been no communication from Valley staff. Every thing I know is from here. So that is why I am making this tread for MSJC. I just get the email today that I am eligible to apply for the Spring 2021 bridge program. The application period is 9/01/2020-9/15/2020. I still need to schedule and take the TEAS exam to submit with my application. Has any one else applied for this term? Have you taken your TEAS yet? -Teri

I have not heard anything either. I check my email probably 30 times a day since we will probably have to rsvp within a certain amount of time. Hopefully we will know soon.

@akalei I wish I would have gotten a pop up. I had to pee so bad after about 2 hours and I didn't think we could walk away from the computer. That's another reason I had to rush at the end. Fingers crossed tho!

    California pay rate

That was my problem at the snf I worked for. The CNA's I had trust in quickly left to a hospital. Wish I could get into a hospital. Maybe once I get my BSN. I love being a nurse. There are way to many people in the health care field that should not be!

    California pay rate

I am a LVN. I work for a Hospice and Palliative care office out of Downey but live in the Inland Empire. They had patients in my area so I took the chance and left my job as a charge nurse at a snf. Its been over two years now and I do not regret it one bit. I made $19.70 starting off at the snf. I make $35 a hourly visit plus .50 a mil for gas. I usually have between 14 to 20 patients I see twice a week. I make around $1200 to $1600 a week with mileage. I make my own hours and Have no one over my shoulder all day. I'm not rushed to administer medications and I get to know each patient out of the comfort of their homes. I love my job. I do wish I had more chances to use more of my skills as I would in a snf or hospital, but will have to wait til my baby is a little older. Right now my hours work great for me. So if you move to southern cali look into home health or hospice and palliative. Pay is great and you really make a difference. Hope this helps.
