  1. Hey all, I am a student nurse interested in a future career in OR nursing upon graduation. I have had a lot of experience in the operating room but have only worked with adult patients. I am curious on others' experiences in the pediatric setting and how considerations differ when working with them compared to adults in the surgical specialty. Thanks in advance!!
  2. The hospital in which I am doing my periop clinical at has their main ORs in the basement; the ASC is on the third or fourth floor I believe. I shadowed a CRNA at another hospital and we were a few floors up!
  3. Hi everyone - I am a junior nursing student who was just accepted into a competitive, limited-seat perioperative clinical course for the month of January. I was assigned to work with a preceptor for the evening shift in the main OR of the hospital. I'm wondering what to expect during the evening shift as I have only ever experienced a day shift with a CRNA. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hey all, I am just finishing up my clinicals for my CNA class at a local nursing home. I have determined that LTC is not really the place I want to work in. I would much rather work in a hospital/pediatric hospital setting. I start college this fall, so getting a job this summer does not seem promising, and I understand that most places will not hire for summer jobs only. I was thinking to look for a CNA job that is PRN at a local hospital, but would that be hard with no other experience as a CNA? I am just kind of lost right now and could use some advice on job options that would fit me. Thank you!
