First off I'm new to the forums, my name is Brianna, I'm a 25 year old mother to 2 young boys, Jordan 2 1/2 and Jared 11 months. I'm going to back to school and I have been considering what I want to do. I have nearly a year of college courses comleted, but mostly computer classes I do like computers, but I need a job that not only pays well, but that there is a HIGH demand for, is secure, and I enjoy helping people, I'm empathetic, social and friendly, sitting behind a computer all day probably isn't the best job considering my personality! Well, I'm about 75% sure that I want to go to nursing school and become a RN. I do have a few concerns though, one is getting entry into the program, they are selective, meaning I need to have a 3.5+ GPA.. ouch. With 2 young kids that won't be easy. My cumulative GPA before ended up being 3.33, so I have some catching up to do! I'm a little daunted by the looming task before me, but I'm excited all the same. I suppose one fear of mine is that I DON'T make the 3.5 GPA, and I'm not admitted into the program.. failure. Not an option for me, but can I do it with 2 young boys demanding my time and attention? I'm not sure, but I really want to try! I'm hoping to find people of like heart here, maybe a little encouragement, I don't know lol Well hello everyone nice to meet you all :) PS- for comparison how selective are the nursing programs you are/will be attending?
