  1. I haven't had the chance to tour the unit at the hospital in my hometown. Other than what I have learned online about this hospital, I really don't know much about it. I've been in one contact with a currently employed RN and she told me a little about the environment and that it is welcoming. I believe the hospital near my area of school has a higher reputation in the area, but I haven't noticed if they're encouraging towards continuing on with education. I honestly have no idea which one to pick. Thankfully I have a little bit of time to decide.
  2. Quick question for you, as a new grad I am trying to choose between two job offers. One is a medsurg unit and the other is medsurg unit with stable tele. I wish to be an ICU nurse in a year or two (who knows) and want to make the right career choice. Would it be better to pick the job with stable tele?
  3. I'm stuck in a difficult position, one that I'm happy to be in. I have been offered two jobs and no clue which one to take. My main goal in my nursing career is become an ICU nurse. One job is offered in my home town on a medsurg floor. The hospital is nice, clean, has a stemi center, but not trauma. The other offer is where I completed my schooling and on a medsurg (with stable tele) unit, Level I trauma center. I would be on the floor for a little less than a year just to train, and then would be sent to another unit. I'm leaning toward the job in my hometown, but would the lack of tele education ruin my chances in transferring to a PCU then ICU? Thanks in advance for the advice!
