NICU Specialty
Although I am currently finishing up my pre-req's prior to applying for nursing school, I wanted to grasp a little insight on how to go about making things happen once I do become an RN. My passion is babies. I simply adore everything that has to do with pregnancy, L&D, nursery, etc. I have infertility and would also love to work with Reproductive Endocrinology if I had the opportunity. After graduation, how would I go about getting into a unit that specializes in those areas?? What steps should be taken to get into a specific specialty nursing program and how competitive is it to get into those programs?? Thanks in advance!!

Should I wait to have a baby?
I agree! There is no time limit with nursing school, but when it comes to fertility, there most certainly is a healthy time limit and at 35 years of age, well the chances decrease healthy or not.

Acceptance into program
We all have to start some where. It just took a bigger kick in your pants to get you to work to your full potential and come out on top! Congratulations on making it into the program!!

Nursing School and Being a parent?
Hello everyone! I am finishing my pre-req's to attend nursing school. I am a mother of 3 older children (2 teens and 1 tween) and 1 younger (1 year old). I was just seeking some perspective on how to go about doing this successfully with having a younger baby. I would really love to hear from those who were able to pull it off and hear what challenges they faced and what routes they took to succeed through out the process. I am super nervous going into all of this at 35, but I genuinely feel that this is my calling. I want to thank in advance all that responds to this!!.. so... THANKS :)
