  1. I got my acceptance letter from Grays Harbor College this evening. Feels good :)
  2. That would be a tough decision! I think I would base mine on where you live (do you want to drive every day, etc) and are you more comfortable where you have taken your pre-req's or do you want a new environment. That kind of thing. Like I said I've heard mixed reviews from people I know that are at SPSCC but have heard really good things about Centralia. Everyone always has different opinions though Do you know anyone in either program currently that you could talk to?
  3. Congrats all! Very happy for you :)
  4. Guess not. But thanks anyway :)
  5. Fingers crossed for you ladies!! I just found out I'm number 18 on spscc's wait list. Eek. They must have had lots of applications and I got drawn really late (even with the extra spots they kept aside) I'm hoping I'll get in somewhere. Hope you get some happy mail today :)
  6. Thank you. I'm bummed since my GPA is almost 4.0 but I knew I was taking a risk with applying to a lottery admission. I know they were going to hold some spots for those that have taken a lot of credits there but I guess they must have had many applicants. I also applied to Grays Harbor but it's so far away so I have my fingers crossed. Im married and love my job here too so it would be a tough decision. Best of luck!
  7. Congratulations! Very exciting!!
  8. It's a public CC in Olympia, WA. They used to have competitive admissions so it is odd. If I get into the other one I may move but it's tough. I'm married and absolutely love my hospital CNA job. (Not to mention my husband's stable employment here he can't really leave plus my friends and family here) Maybe it's just not the right time for me. :) We'll see. I was just curious other people's experiences with being waitlisted.
  9. Congratulations! I just got my wait list letter and have taken ALL my classes there I've heard some good feedback about their program and some bad. I hope it's better than it used to be. Good luck with your other applications and with making your decision. I'm sure that "yes" was an amazing feeling!!
  10. Hello everyone! Just joined this group hoping to get some feedback/advice. I have been a CNA for ten years and just last term completed all pre-req's to apply to nursing school. One is in town and one is an hour and a half away so of course the in town one is my preference. They had their accreditation pulled a couple years ago and are now under probationary accreditation. (since that started they have based admission on a lottery system...) I got a letter from them today that I was not selected in the lottery but have been placed on the waitlist. (of course I didnt get told what number so I will call on Monday to see if I can find out) With all my work experience and having a GPA near 4.0 I am having a really hard time wrapping my head around this. I understand the lottery system but just feel like I've worked so hard so its a bit discouraging and disappointing. I was hoping with the "bad" reputation I would not have as much competition.... And I keep trying to tell myself that maybe the program isn't good enough for me or at least I made it to the waitlist but it's not making it any easier. I truly love being in the nursing world and am so ready to take the next step. So any stories about being waitlisted? Good, bad, anything. Everyone I have known has just gotte n in so haven't heard list stories. Looking forward to being a member of this community!
