Need some advice. I am 59 applied to the RN and LVN programs at a junior college nearby. I was accepted into the LVN program starting this fall and made alternate for the RN program which is the program I really wanted. I just finished up all the classes that could be taken while you are in RN school so being that it is points driven I now have roughly 136 pts. out of a maximum of 150. 36 of those points weren't on my transcript when I applied for fall. The school advisor suggested that I reapply for the spring semester RN class since I have more points and decline the LVN program. I would have to do 1 year LVN program, then a 18 month bridge program for RN if I go through with the LVN. The RN program is a 2 year program. So I guess this is what I am asking. At my age do I take the sure bet on the LVN program and spend basically 3 1/2 years to get to RN or do I gamble on getting into the RN program starting Spring and get done in 2 years.
