  1. Graded with my BSN in April, passed the boards in first week of June, license was up 6 days after I received confirmation that I passed. 6 weeks and no job. I did get an offer from one nursing agency, but had to deny them due to a whole plethora of reasons that I will not get into. The job market sucks, especially in Chicago for new grads. Settle down and work at a nursing home for 6 months, then start applying to LTACH and work there for 6 months - 1yr if you want to get a hospital job. The only other way to get a hospital job is through connections.
  2. Well, I had an interview today for a School RN position that paid $24/hr. Ended up respectfully declining the offer and I also have an interview for med/surg in a hospital in Chicago tomorrow.
  3. Fully licensed with a BSN Applied, thanks!
  4. Thanks for the reply, would you mind telling us which facility and unit you got hired on? Also, did you have any connections?
  5. No preference on the unit. I'd prefer BH, but I am not picky and willing to get my foot in the door.
  6. Are there any hospitals or any facilities that isn't LTC or assisting living that are willing to hire new grads? I'm starting to lose hope here, I've tried countless of places and not a single phone call from anyone. I originally thought it was my resume or cover letter, but I had both examined by a dedicated faculty staff from our school who creates professional resumes. I've tried behavioral health, prisons, rehabs, home care, and still nothing.
