  1. Thanks for the advice guys! Turns out they don't let new grads into the ED or L&D with less than 120 hours of clinical experience in those units. I don't know why that information wasn't available to me before, but I guess they were kind of telling me I wasn't going to be put either place. They told me I was being interview for a position an an acute care floor but didn't elaborate what kind that would be I understand this could mean med surg and that's fine. What other kinds of units are considered acute care?
  2. I'm graduating in May and have my first phone interview today for a residency program. I was told I would be interviewing for acute care and would be given the med surg interview. I only applied for ED and L&D and I really don't want to work in med surg. Is acute care always med surg? Is it possible that ED nurses also get a med surg interview? Or is this their way of telling me that they're not going to put me in the ED?
  3. I stopped by the other day and the scrub store had no idea what I was talking about.
  4. So excited. Has anyone ordered scrubs? I know they said they would be available to try on at orientation but I'm worried that if I wait that long I won't have them in time for when I need them.
  5. hela- Her adviser told her she would be a shoe-in because her GPA and KAPLAN scores were so good. Did you get any feedback on you interview? Or do you just feel like you did well. Sunshine- I heard that the person that usually takes care of orientation and all no long works at CSU and hasn't been replaced so I think things are just going to run behind. On another note, I signed and returned my confirmation letter and received an email telling me they do not have it even though I mailed it 8 days ago and they should. Has anyone else heard anything at all back about their confirmation letter? Do you think it could just be a mistake? I mean I did register for nursing classes for the coming Fall semester.
  6. I got an acceptance letter. Anyone else on here? Also, does anyone have any idea how things are weighted? Like does KAPLAN count more than GPA? Or the interview? One of my friends had a good GPA (better than mine) and a higher than average KAPLAN, and still go wait listed. I'm just trying to make sense of it because I thought if I got in, then she definitely would.
  7. Everyone still waiting? Does anyone have any idea when we'll hear back? Edit: I just checked the chat board for this time last year and they got their letters at the end of April. So probably 2 more weeks it looks like. That's disappointing.
  8. Quenna, my last name starts with a D. I didn't think that it might be alphabetical now. I don't know what the interview will be like. I want to think that it's going to be easy and fast.
  9. I got an email an hour ago to set up an interview! Keep an eye on your email and pick up any phone calls- it's up to your interviewer how they want to contact you!
  10. I didn't know the date was extended either. But it looks like they'll be letting us know around the same time as last year. Good to know I haven't missed something. hela, are you taking Patho at Clayton state? My professor is very upset with our grades because we aren't scoring high enough apparently. eyedreamofnursing, I was thinking the same thing! If I don't get in for the Fall, I'll try again in the Spring when I have all of my classes completed!
  11. Hey, I've been hoping to find a page for Fall 2016 but had trouble! I'm glad to have finally found it. So far as I can tell, you DO have to have Pathophysiology completed prior to entering the program at Clayton State (although it is part of the program at some other schools) but not before applying to the program. My adviser did stress that if you get an A in any class, make sure it's that one. At this point we're all waiting for a phone call. Has anyone heard anything? My adviser said we'd start hearing back right after Spring break and should know before April, but when I looked at the discussion for this time last year no one knew if they had an interview until early April. I just need to know if I'm in, it's driving me crazy!
  12. Hi all! I applied for Spring 2016 as well. Except now I'm getting nervous about grades and TEAs scores! I'm retaking A&P 2 this summer (because I got a C last semester), but since we already had to submit an application, do you think they will still only look at that C, or will my credit from this semester count? Also I got a 87.3 on the TEAs, which at the time I thought was pretty good because it was better than anyone I had spoken to, but now seeing that people are getting scores in the 90's, I'm concerned. And to the person applying to GSU, I was going to apply to their Spring 2016 semester as well but I'm pretty sure they did away with it in the 2014-2015 school year. I keep checking back but it's still not an option on their application. Some pages on their website still have deadlines for a Spring application, but I did manage to find a page the other day that said they weren't going to have one anymore. I tried to call them but they're "closed for the holiday" so I'll have to try back on Monday.
