Hello, I am a paramedic (recently resigned) I am 29 and I want to go back to school for nursing. There are not many programs that recognize my schooling and experience as more than "potential" however that has not deterred my decision. I am thinking of going to Brock University as it is close to home and I have heard (mostly) good things. The registrars office has been less than helpful in answering my questions and seems set that I will have a hard time applying.. so here I am. My reason for switching professions is that I like to see a patient through their care, I want to help. As much as I loved (and sometimes hated) being a paramedic I really believe my skills sets would be better suited within a hospital environment practicing patient care. I am currently taking my pre-nursing prerequisites (Chem 4U etc) just in case, also to brush up on my study skills etc. I am just wondering if there are any previous paramedics that have gone through something similar. And if anyone has any pointers, or helpful information. I know that with my determination I will get into my school of choice (fingers crossed) but it seems currently I am having a hard time. Thank you for your help
