Columbia University MDE 2017
You can apply to the MDE / DNP and if they don't accept you for the DNP, you can still be accepted into the MDE portion. I'm currently finishing up the first semester of MDE. Going on to the DNP next fall. Last final of summer semester tomorrow woooo (I should be studying now). A bunch of people in my cohort were not accepted to the DNP but we're accepted for the MDE - there is an internal application process for the DNP and you can reapply if you were denied or apply fresh if you just applied for MDE and decided to go the DNP route. From what I've heard the internal application process is pretty straight forward

Wonder if there were more or less people who applied this year then previous years, because of them transitioning to the DNP program

Columbia ETP 2016
Yeah, I see it now - I had some of their old pages saved still. On this page though it seems like they removed their pre-reqs besides stats? Columbia ETP 2016
Hi everyone, I'm a little confused. I know Columbia transitioned from ETP to the MDE but can you still apply directly to the DNP program with a bachelors in another field...? On their website I only see the option to apply for the MDE portion and not the DNP initially. I'm a little hesitant about going for the MDE if I don't get accepted directly into the DNP program. Columbia was my #1 school though so I'm having a dilemma. I've worked in the mental health field for a few years and I'm 100% sure psychiatric nurse practitioner it's what I want to do directly out of school. I know Rochester still has an ETP psychiatric nurse practitioner program, though I've heard Columbia's is better.

I'm applying this year with a 3.4 overall GPA 3.7 pre-req. Have good ECs including volunteer work / 4 years of military service. For those that have applied / gotten in, were your stats comparable to that? Ty
