  1. Hi! Are you doing Purdue's ACNP program as a post master's? If so, how far along are you and how are you enjoying it? I'm considering it for a post master's, mostly because of the cost. I'm just trying to get as much information from current Purdue students as I can before I commit! Thanks in advance!
  2. Hello! I've been accepted into the acute care PNP program for the fall of 2017!
  3. I see it often in patient's who are in failure, but not fulminant pulmonary edema and have borderline blood pressures or potassium levels. 1mg/hr or what not, just to get the fluid out, but not cause profound hypotension/hypokalemia.
  4. Lasix might not be dose in mcg/kg where you work, but where she works it certainly might be. As a transport nurse, I pick up patients in multiple different hospitals. Every day, I see a new medication being delivered/dosed/prepared a different way. There's no reason why lasix cant be dosed mcg/kg. It's hospital preference.
  5. Don't be totally discouraged. It will be hard to find a job back here, but they are obtainable. There are two small community hospitals in the Framingham area (Metrowest- Framingham & Natick) as well as multiple rehabs & LTC centers. Framingham State is also a cheap, state university which has a RN to BSN program. There are options for you!
