  1. @kikiryryxforever : hi there! were you able to get any answers back as far as advice / tips for applying for Fall 2021? You have excellent grades and I'm sure you'll get in! If you would like to talk, you can PM me on here!
  2. YES! Please feel free to message me on my IG, helloxreiko! ?
  3. Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear that ? It’s a very long story, but to spare you the novel- I was born & raised in Hawaii and left in 2009 to attend an out state school; I graduated in 2013 with my bachelor’s. Most of my credits transferred over but I would still start in semester 1 with everyone else, maybe just taking some different courses / courses I haven’t taken yet.
  4. CONGRATS! Excited to meet you! ? I think me as well as kmusubi also got accepted! Just waiting on the others on this thread to also get their acceptance letters as well! ??
  5. Thank you so much for following up! One of my friends is an upperclassmen in the nursing program and he hasn't heard anything about their clinicals / if they're holding their schedules back. Are you by chance attending the "online admitted student event"? I think I reserved mine for April 8.. Is this even required to "attend"? LOL.
  6. Hi all :) I applied to Chaminade in late Jan and got my acceptance letter on March 2 via email! So excited to meet everyone in the fall! I've submitted my FAFSA earlier in March but haven't heard anything from Chaminade yet in regards to that. I also did get my transcripts reviewed to see what would / wouldn't transfer (from Marlene Baker), that was sent through regular mail. Is anyone really anxious about our semester actually starting on time due to COVID? Hi there! Oh WOW!! I haven't heard anything about that, how interesting! I wish they would do that for this year's cohort, but I'm just really blessed to get in :)
  7. SirMtea06, Thank you for your very kind words! I really hope we all get in!!! I checked my spam / junk email high and low and still have not found the email saying there was a delay in the decisions until the 25th.... I'm wondering if that could be bad for me.. But wishing you & everyone on this post the very best ? I really hope we're all classmates!
  8. Hi SirMtea06, Happy Monday! Unfortunately, I wouldn’t know if they factor overall GPA.. I’m sorry I couldn’t be much help. As far as the transcripts- I didn’t receive anything other than confirmation that the department has received it. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing.... ? Did the email for your HPU evaluation come from the admissions office or the nursing department? I’m freaking out because I haven’t received any emails from HPU, other than on 9/16/19, stating that my HPU nursing application is under review.. ?
  9. I only realized NOW that I can respond with this feature ? please excuse all of my unnecessary posts! Haha. Ahhhh we’ll see tho. I really hope we all get in! Please keep me updated, since apparently I’m out of the email loop lol! I will keep you updated as well! Fingers crossed for all of us :)
  10. AKinau: omg, I didn’t get any email saying they were pushing back the decision ? I’m super scared now!
  11. Hi AKinau, Thank you for the clarification! I didn’t get an email about the push back for decisions! ? Did you receive it through your personal email? I’m assuming it’s the one that we put in our application.. I have been checking my email like a madwoman all day ?
  12. Hi Kmoss! For my prereqs, I got A's and B's! I got an 80.7 on the TEAS.. IMO I feel like that's a pretty low score in comparison to what some others have scored. I'm sure you're gonna do great on the TEAS and get in for Fall 2020! ?
  13. Hi everyone, I received the hard copy letter of the GENERAL acceptance into HPU as a "pre-nursing" major for Spring 2020 in the mail, today. I am still anxiously waiting for our nursing acceptance letters, though! Just making sure, the nursing decision letters are only sent via email, right?
  14. Hey! Thanks for asking that question. I actually just called UoP today- they said both of their A&P I & II have lab components, which means I’d have 8 total credits after finishing the courses with them! I will also also look into Portage Learning as well, thank you for the link!
  15. Hi there ? First of all, let me start by saying that rejection letters DO NOT define you as a person nor as a student. If nursing is truly what you want to do, you will find a way! Take it from me, I know what it’s like to be rejected. I have a bachelor’s in a totally different degree (long story about that but this post is about you!) and am finding my way back to nursing. My best suggestion? Beef up your prerequisites or whatever it is that your choice of nursing schools are requiring from you. Currently, I am in the process of trying to enroll in online A&P I & II and to have them done by Sept 1. With that being said, this time around, I’m not accepting anything less than an A for myself. I’m also retaking the TEAS to make myself a more competitive applicant. I know you feel discouraged and that’s absolutely normal. But do not let these letters define you, let them MOTIVATE you!
  16. Hi there ? Chem was (still is!) hard for me. I took chem in high school and Chem 101 during my undergrad and still struggled. What helped was my old chem textbook that I kept. If you don’t have access to that, I highly suggest going to your local library to find some chemistry books or even SAT books (looking at primarily the science section) to borrow. What I try to do (with all science topics) is to first read the books and cross reference the topics with YouTube vids. I’m sure you know by now but you can practically learn anything online theses days, lol. Khan Acadamy, Crash Course and Ameba Sisters on YouTube are excellent!!! Hope this helps, best of luck! ?
  17. Hello! ? Just wondering if anyone here has taken Human A&P I and/or II? I am wanting your personal opinion/experience about the difficulty level, what tests / homework / quizzes were like, etc. All I see online (not on AllNurses) are somewhat bad reviews about University of Phoenix and their degree programs, but what about just INDIVIDUAL courses? I'm looking to be a more competitive nursing school applicant and really wanting to retake Human A&P I and II before applying. Anything is greatly appreciated! ?
  18. I see, thanks for clarifying about the study guides. I always get pretty nervous at the sound of "exams" because I've never been much of a great test taker. Thank you so much for taking your time to answer so thoroughly! Sorry I'm asking again, but which professor did you take the course from? Do you know if all professors have the same course set up (homework/lab/exam)?
  19. Ah, so awesome, thank you for your detailed reply! Are are there any study guides for the exams? And if so, were they pretty vague (almost useless) or pretty descriptive and stated specific ideas/concepts you must know? I ask because in my college experience, I've had good and bad study guides- meaning some study guides I've had professors write the objectives from the book for each chapter word for word (pretty much a copy and paste of the book) and I've had professors give in detail, what specifically they want you to know- specific ideas, concepts, etc. The amount of homework- was it time consuming, busy work? Did you have to really know your stuff in order to answer the questions? Also if I may ask, what professor did you take this course from?
  20. Hi Maycation, How were the exams? Proctored? I'm deciding whether to take the class and I would like to know as much about the class/difficulty to be fully prepared because I really need an A (don't we all, haha).
