  1. Congratulations Sabrina! I got accepted into the evening program as well. I'm sure Mr.S has already mentioned NOT to buy the books yet, since they are still working out the deal with the textbook company. Next steps will be discussed at orientation this July. As for costs, here is a thread that I came upon a while back discussing this [it will give you an idea of what to expect]: https://allnurses.com/new-york-nursing/nursing-program-at-897013.html#post7768678 [comment #6] Here is a more detailed article from a current student: https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/going-for-nursing-901558.html Look for the first comment by yar5, who provides a breakdown of costs These are the costs IN ADDITION to the tuition. Since you are an evening student, I'm assuming that you are only taking NUR 112 in FALL/15? This would equal 8 credits. If you are a NYC resident, you will be paying $210.00/credit. This would come out to $1,680 for the semester, and about $3,360/year. Here are the details: Office of the Bursar - Tuition Contact the office of Financial aid ASAP! The aid gets dispersed in October, and then around March. BMCC Financial Aid | Request a Federal Direct Loan Hope this is helpful. I look forward to meeting you in class! [That is, if we don't bump into each other sooner!]
  2. Oh yeah, if anyone figures out how to get a private group thing going, I'm up for it!
  3. Mr.S mentioned that the Nursing Department was still working out the textbook deal/contract for the upcoming semester. He advises not to buy anything yet because you will risk losing $$$ on non-refundable books if BMCC decides to switch to different ones.
  4. I hope I'm not to late in confirming — since I need to be in the area, I can be there at 10am on Monday. I can only stick around until 10:20 before I run off to another appointment. Hope to see you there!
  5. Actually, I'm picking up the packet Thursday morning [tomorrow]: not sure if the pick-up times are different for Day and Evening students. I want to take advantage of getting all the info I need before too much time passes. I'll keep you posted; I may need to make another trip to BMCC next week. What time on Monday were you planning? If I don't get booked for a gig that day, I can make it in early. I will gladly accept as much help as I can get! Thank you!
  6. Congratulations! Now you can breathe... for now!
  7. OK, getting a bit ahead of myself… Once I review the packet, I'll be able to provide more details. Thanks!
  8. After two anxious weeks, I finally got THE call at 3pm. Once I pick up my packet... the madness will begin! Again, good luck and hope to see you in the evening program!
  9. Good news and annoying news! I got the call today! I will be picking up my packet tomorrow morning. Now the annoying part: Mandatory orientation is scheduled for Thursday, July 9th. Problem is that I will be overseas that week. [yes I want to cry] Mr.S mentioned that I would need to assign a proxy, in writing, to attend in my place. This is not ideal, considering that my only option is a family member. Have any of you been accepted? I will be attending the evening/weekend program. Perhaps I can connect with any of my future classmates through private message? [i'm not sure if I've written up enough posts to do that yet]. I'm hoping I can get the notes from the orientation, since my relative may not be the best note-taker. YOUR HELP WILL BE MOST APPRECIATED!!! THANK YOU!!!
  10. AYAYAY!!! My heart skipped a little when I read ‘tomorrow'! I think I'm going to have to slowly back away from the forums… this is not letting me be productive. Good Luck to you and everyone!
  11. Thanks for taking the initiative! I've been floating around the forums, anxiously looking for some info. I'm avoiding calling meself; not in the mood for a cranky response! *SIGH* We'll have to wait another week, perhaps?
