  1. I will look into it as I am not committed to Usc yet. Do you work during the program and did they make you find your own preceptor? L
  2. You are awesome!! Don't be too hard on yourself just do your best and get through the program. I have found that the real mastery of information comes when working with patients in the real world. I went pretty much straight out of school into ED and one expericene w a Gi bleed trumps the time I spent studying the material. Thanks for the response I know the program is rigerouse but you know you will come out a much better NP for it. Just Remember Cs get degrees í ½í¸‚. And everyone acclimates at their own pace. I hope to be a costudent soon they just submitted my info to faculty today. 1-3 weeks for a response .
  3. Congrats!!! I applied last week are you doing the full time or part time program? Just waiting for my references to get back to them. Wish me luck!
  4. I did more research and I think I'm going to change my topic to implementation of daily sedation vacation as it has 2 clear sides. I'm not sure which side I am on yet, won't be until I read some articles. Thank you again for your help :)
  5. Thank you for the response. I have been searching the internet and the library, I understand that managing pain in one who is sedated is challenging and can be dangerous. However, I need to find 2 clear sides in order to create a thesis and organize my paper. I will continue to research, and have found information about ICU practices and also about sedation and pain scales.
  6. Hi Everyone, I am a new grad who just started my BSN program. I need to write a paper on a controversial nursing practice. I had one picked and written but the professor didn't approve it so I found some info about the treatment of pain in the sedated patient. My paper needs to have 2 sides and I am not sure which direction to go as I am short on time and have just began my research I know I am going to talk about nonverbal pain scales but was looking for help about the 2 sided of pain management in sedation? My teacher like the topic and said it was very relevant in the ICU. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, especially from those who work in the ICU. Thank you, Melissa
  7. thank you everyone for the help I will begin my research and pick a topic.
  8. Hi Everyone, I am a nursing student and I have an assignment to "investigate a controversial nursing issue that has at least 2 sides to it , cite literature, evp and reports to support your position. Explain in writing how effect the issue/resolution affect professional practice in the past, present, future. Address roles of the provider, coordinator, teacher, advocate and member of a profession as appropriate". I was wondering if any one has any ideas for a good topic? Maybe something that working rns see on the floor or a new practice that has been implemented in your hospital. I'm a student and don't have too much floor experience so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your help,
