  1. Thanks to all for your input. It is greatly appreciated. I apologize if I misled you but just to clarify the 25-30 pt/ day is for the 8-5 schedule .They do offer CEU reimbursement of $1000 per year and malpractice insurance along with 10 days paid vacation per year. Again I really appreciate your advise. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
  2. I'm a new grad in Texas. Starting salary in my area is between 85,000-100,000. Primary care on the lower end while specialty in the upper range. I have family so my priority is spending quality time with my children and being able to accommodate to their schedule. I received an offer from a private practice they are willing to accommodate with my schedule to 8 AM to 3 PM Monday through Friday, no call, 25-30 pts/day, new grad orientation. Annual base salary $87,000, production bonus $5/pt over 25. However there aren't any benefits in terms of medical insurance or 401(k). Please give me your experienced opinions. Thanks
  3. I had a 2 yr old and was pregnant when I started my junior yr of nursing school, delivered my second child after first semester of junior yr. Graduated with my BSN. Started graduate school 4 yrs later with a three children ( then ages 7, 5, 1). Delivered my 4th child in my second yr of graduate school. Just graduated with MSN -PNP May 2015 with kids ages 10, 8, 4, & 1. Anything is possible if you work hard. But I have to say my mother, husband and my faith were essential. Good luck , you can do it!
  4. I live in the DFW area, speak Spanish and I never got paid extra for being bilingual. I have gotten preference during the hiring process for my bilingual skills but nothing else. Good luck
