  1. Hi everybody. I am extremely interested in travel nursing. I am just a bit confused on how it all works. Ive been reading a lot of articles and am still confused. I see a lot say free housing and M&I.. now what I don't understand is let's say the pay in California for travel assignment is 45 an hour. And you work 40 hrs per week for 13 weeks. In those 13 weeks you made 23,400 without being taxed. Now for the housing, does the rent come out of your 23k you made? Or do the travel agency that you worder with pay the rent and you take home the 23,400.. I'm having a hard time understanding it all. Would appreciate all of the replys!!
  2. Hi all! I'm at my local community college taking all of my pre requisites coursework required for my college of nursing. I applied for the ADN program and in fall 2016, they're coming out with their bachelors program(thank god!).. I dream to become an ER nurse! I am extremely energetic and driven. I have received all A's in my pre requisite coursework including anatomy and physiology 1 and 2, medical terminology, health and nutrition, etc.. I find it somewhat easy. I was asking for tips for nursing courses.. how did yall deal with stress? How much is the workload? Can I juggle a social life but still greatly focus on nursing? I did all of my gen eds for the nursing college also, so I'm only taking 2 nursing courses per semester.. but still considered full time. Is 2 nursing courses a less workload? I've looked at other colleges curriculum and they're taking all of their gen eds on top of about 3 nursing courses per semester for their BSN program. But their tuition is 38,000 a year.. and multiply that times 3 and that's just insane! So I was asking about how yall juggled it all? Also, if any scholarships are out there, please let me know! My nursing program is 20k for the two years which isn't bad at all, but I want to pay the less I can and save up money. Thank you so much, I will appreciate all of the replys!
  3. Hey all, I just got out of my hesi a2 entrance exam. I used hesi admission assessment review book to study for! It took me about 2 hours to complete the exam, but you do have 4 hours to take it. Math- 94% For math, it was pretty basic.. basic mutiplication and division. Know your conversions!! I had maybe 10 questions involving conversions. Also, know how to divide, multiply, add, and subtract fractions. I'd say most of my exam consisted of fractions. Also know how to solve word problems... pretty basic stuff. Reading Comprehension- 76% Didn't really study for this, but it gave a couple 2-3 paragraph essays. What does the author imply? Know how to find opinions. Some questions were a little tricky for me.. Vocab- 88% STUDYY the vocab words in the exam review book. Essential to getting a good score on the hesi. About 25/55 were coming from the study guide, some were basic words that you hear everyday and some were not. Grammar- 82 Super basic. If english isn't your second language I'd definitely study the whys of things. But to me it was super easy and you know what doesn't fit. Example was like: John and I _____ to the movie A) went B) was C)were D) going Also, a big majority of the questions were asking which word is incorrect in this sentence The most difficult thing for me was the reading comprehension. But all in all, was a pretty easy exam. Don't stress about it!!! My composite score was 85%
  4. Hi, I'm a senior just graduating high school. My aspiration is to become an RN with a BSN. I have thought about going to a community college to get my associates of arts and sciences which would be my two years of Gen eds and pre requisites. If I did that and then went to a college in my town, I would have to go there for their 3 year bsn program. I don't wanna have to take 5 years to get my bsn. We have a program here that's an ASN. What pre reqs would I have to take before my ASN schooling and then if I did RN TO BSN chamberlain online, would I have to take more pre requisites or just strictly nursing classes?
