I will be getting physical therapy for my back. I have been told all my life I would never amount to anything

I am a CNA and thinking about taking classes to become and Ultrasound Tech but I am still very unsure of what specialty in the medical field I want to go into. I wanted to get my RN but my neurologist said because I have a slipped disc in my back that it's not possible. I want to prove him wrong but I am having trouble choosing. Can you guys tell me what specialty you work in and when you knew it was what you wanted to do?

I am on my fathers insurance

My appointment is an hour away at 2 and I'm supposed to work at 230.

So over the years I have done a lot of damage to my right ankle and as a CNA I am on my feet a lot. Recently I re-injured my ankle. The last time I injured it that if I sprain it again I will need surgery. I made an appointment today after I went to my FCP and she referred me to the orthopedic because she fears I will need the surgery. Well I texted my scheduling manager and told her and she questioned what time it was at and I told her 2 in the afternoon was the only time I could get and I told her I was trying to find someone to cover my shift so I can go and she flat out told me that I would have to come into work after my appointment because shift changes are approved by my boss and my boss said no too. I need this appointment because I don't want my ankle to be getting worse. What do I do? Can they do this?

A lot of the time I feel under appreciated. I have no clue where to go next in my career and with my new full time job I am afraid I won't be able to get back into school. I love what I do but I am so confused about where to go next and what specialty I want to go into to. I now work at Shenandoah Center in WV as a CNA but still. I want to be something more.
