So I recently finished all my exams and I am now a SECOND YEAR/LEVEL nursing students. I've heard it is very different than first year. Does anyone have any advice on NCLEX, exams, clinicals, studying, etc.

Does it have a USB port (I guess that is the right word)?

Hi all I need a new laptop, I want something smaller and lighter than what I have right now. I currently have a HP ENVY dv7 Notebook PC its about 17 inches and 7lbs. I want to stay away from MAC because the software/program my school uses for classes some files cannot be downloaded with a MAC (so please don't say go mac!:))

Is it worth my time to volunteer? I know I don't have any patient contact, but it could be used as a source for networking, right?

Hey! I live in southeastern NC. From what I know and have heard from people who are nurses, it is not that difficult to find a job in NC. Everyone I know that has recently graduated and started work after passing the NCLEX had job offers before graduation or right after. I would hope that would be the same for me, but things might change in two years (and my luck just isn't that good. I want to know what I can do to have a job offer before graduation or right after, then once I pass the NCLEX I can start working. Also I'm getting my ADN, not BSN so that may make a difference. Any thoughts?

I'm starting an ADN program in the southeastern region of NC. I was wondering what the first semester of nursing school is like. I'll be taking 3 nursing classes: Fundamental, Assessment, and Pharmacology. What should I expect? How soon will I start clinicals? Any ideas on how I should stay organized and study tips for these classes? I know I have to have an 80 average, so I want to be on my A game. This school is known for being tough, a lot of people told me not to go here because the instructors make you do unnecessary things. But, they also graduate nurses who are prepared to hit the floor and work once they graduated compared to other schools in the area. I'm an A/B student and I've always had to study to get my grades, so studying and time management is not a problem for me, but I know nursing school is way different. Any advice would help.
