  1. Not waitlisted...got in!!!
  2. I was able to register a couple days ago. It seems the hold got lifted automatically for me. You don't need to worry about the classes filling up, though -- 60 seats for 60 butts!
  3. Thanks Sarah. That helps! It seems like they're waiting on responses to even order the waitlist *gulp*. I'll probably hear today because I just put down a non-refundable deposit!
  4. So...I got accepted at my back-up school, but I haven't had any news about ranking order at San Mateo. Is there a "respond-by" date for those of you that got in? I've already started shelling out the money and paperwork at my back-up plan (due by Thanksgiving!). Thanks, Violet
  5. Hi Melanie! I did the background check online -- it was pretty easy but...you've got to pay for it. I'm waitlisted at my first choice (Samuel Merritt, accelerated program -- nursing is a second career for me :)), and I won't hear about my ranking order until later this week. I actually already have some nursing courses under my belt, so SJSU may be "part time" for me -- we'll see! I am thrilled to have gotten in, and can't wait for next semester to start! Violet
  6. Check your snail mail! I just received my acceptance letter. The postmark is from yesterday, so if you're outside the city you probably won't get it until next week. Good luck to all!
  7. Hi, just a little update. I was told that "letters should be out by Nov. 20, 2015."
  8. I just received a waitlisted notification! It said there were was no numerical order yet, that it will be ordered next week. I should be hearing from my back-up plan the week of the 20th.
  9. Good luck to all! The applicant pool should be smaller for this cohort because of the closing off of CSUMentor at an earlier-than-normal date (a little birdie told me). I am still waiting to hear the results of a petition I filed regarding a recency exemption. I am eligible only if that is approved. Violet
  10. Hi, I applied, too. I just calculated my impaction score and it is 7.36. Where did you learn about the 7.25 cut-off score? Does that mean that everyone above that got accepted? (Yep, I know I should have gone to an orientation but SJSU is my back-up plan that I may be needing.) Violet
  11. Congratulations!!! You can breathe now! I still haven't heard back. It seem like the San Mateo notifications are coming out slowly... I am registering in classes for my back-up plan at SJSU. I can always drop if I hear good news from Samuel Merritt. Violet
  12. Kristin, have you heard anything?
  13. So...I got a reply. She checked my file and there "was no decision in it yet." She said she will follow up with faculty on it. It seems like they release the decisions as they receive them from faculty -- who actually make the decisions. Violet
  14. @KNB923 - Are you waitlisted at San Mateo?
  15. Hi. I called today and was told to email one of the two admissions counselors. I need to commit to my "Plan B" soon if I'm not admitted at Samuel Merritt. I could be generalizing here (so correct me if I'm wrong), but it seems that all of the people that were contacted last week were admitted and had no prerequisites in progress. I just finished patho and pharma a few weeks ago, and I have a communications course in progress. At this point I'm hoping to be chosen as the token "over 30" student.
  16. I turned 40 in June and I'm starting an ABSN in January. What I lack in youthful energy I more than make up for in maturity, life experience, work ethic, and realistic expectations.
  17. I was in nearly the same position. Would you believe I accidentally got pregnant right after my husband's vasectomy? First it's shock, then acceptance, and then happiness. Then a miscarriage. It's such an emotional rollercoaster. It seems that so many of us go through this. You're not alone. Thank you for sharing! Things can only get better.
  18. I'm in the same position as Bibliophage. Thank you!
  19. I still haven't heard anything. Has anyone had a waitlist or rejection notification?
  20. No, I haven't heard. I actually emailed again yesterday afternoon. Maybe the annoying people are last to hear.
  21. Here's a link to the calendar. I'm so excited for you guys! I haven't heard either way...
  22. I still haven't heard anything. I emailed one of the admissions counselors this morning, as I just finished pharma and patho and need to know if I should send transcripts. I got an auto-reply email saying that she is away at a recruiting event but will still try to respond to emails.
  23. That's probably a good thing -- they're sitting down to hash out the admissions!
  24. Wow! So...did anybody who only applied to Peninsula hear back? Or were all of these notifications just for Sacramento?
  25. Thanks for the update. It's agonizing! I'm local, but I know that some applicants are from out of the area and even out of state. If anyone applied for the January start at SJSU (San Jose State University), I know that they won't release decisions until the end of November. Yikes.
