UPenn MSN 2016
Same! I flew to Philly recently to get an idea of the area and am trying to stay in the closest proximity to the SON as possible. From my understanding, the University City area is the closest area to the SON building.

Good luck to you!

Have you interviewed? If so, I would maybe try contacting the program director or assistant program director for the program you applied to.

UPenn MSN 2016
Penn, by far, has been the best interview experience I've ever had! My interview was very relaxed and more conversational rather than being "drilled". That's fantastic news about the 10 more seats being available this year! I'm always curious about class sizes and asked in my interview as well. I believe there are about 20 seats available for the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care track. Awesome question by the way regarding the post-master's DNP!

Wow, that's really great news! Do you know approx. how many people are accepted into the acute care program?

UPenn MSN 2016
Hopefully you'll hear back soon. You know, I've read on past threads that calling the nursing admissions office is sort of useless because no one answered or returned calls, but the couple of times I've called, I've always gotten to speak to someone immediately.....maybe try calling?

Have you heard back from the Program Director?

UPenn MSN 2016
Hello, I believe a lot of the MSN programs have a start date of summer 2016 i.e Adult-Gero Primary Care, Adult-Gero Acute Care, Women's Health etc. with exception of the FNP program. Your timing is excellent for March 2016- the earlier, the better (plus, according to their website, it can take up to 6 weeks for your transcripts to arrive at the School of Nursing). I've had a lot of success (not only with UPenn), but with other schools applying wayyy before the deadline. Good luck-

Hello, I've read in past UPenn threads that some people were accepted without interviews.....

UPenn MSN 2016
Congrats on your acceptance! Are you from the Philly area or will be moving? I live pretty far away and am a little nervous for the big move, but nonetheless am stoked for this opportunity!

I knew there were others out there!

Yes, my application deadline was also 10-15. Did you apply to a MSN program or the direct entry BSN/MSN program? I'm thinking it takes a bit longer to hear back from the direct entry, BSN/MSN program.

Checking in to see if there's anyone out there!

2016 UPenn BSN/MSN Applicants
Hey everyone! I'm pretty stoked to have come across this thread as there are no threads for MSN applicants. I was recently accepted to the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner track (start date, Summer 2016!) Also, for those deciding between phone vs. campus interview, I had a phone interview. I'm pretty sure it says on the website that phone and campus interviews are weighted equally.

Kady, I was also supposed to start DYC in January (like both of you) and flew up in October to start my apartment search with the idea if I found something, I would put a deposit down early to secure a place to live. It worked out fabulously, I was able to secure an apartment for the month of November and only paid one month in advance since I would moving in the beginning of December. Word of advice, start looking and contacting properties you are interested in NOW. I was told time and time again, finding an apartment to rent in the winter months is a bit more challenging. I was recently accepted to UPenn's nurse practitioner (MSN program) and will be starting in 6 months! I really really liked DYC and was considering applying to them for grad school, but unfortunately they do not offer an adult-gerontology track.

Congratulations on both of your acceptances! :) I was accepted and almost attended DYC's BSN program a couple of years ago, but did not attend because I was accepted to my local BSN program and financially, it just made more sense to stay home. Since you guys are relocating, I would suggest you look for apartments in the "Elmwood Village" and "Allentown" areas since they are considered the more safe areas around DYC. There are some pretty cool, unique places to live in Buffalo and rent is actually pretty reasonable. Congratulations again and good luck on your apartment search!

UPenn MSN 2016
Hi all, After lots of looking through threads here on AN (and I mean, lots , ) I wasn't able to find a thread for MSN applicants recently accepted to UPenn (start date, summer 2016!)- so I decided to start one. I was recently accepted into the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program and am looking to connect with my future cohort!
