RECIPROCITY to California - RN Graduate from the PHILIPPINES
hi everyone! i am a member on this site for over a year now. and i have the same dilemma has everyone is facing with regards to those who have graduated and earned their BSN degree in the Philippines. I am from the batch 2013 and I am a Registered nurse back in the Philippines. i started my application in the state of CA last May 2015. And have gotten an initial response from my licensing analyst, asking for ton of requirements (TRANSCRIPTS, educational background program, academic calender, cases, etc). And my school have just sent them all the things they've asked for just last MAY of this year. And I have been calling my licensing analyst since I got notified from LBC (the courier service used to sending the docs) that it had been delievered and received by this certain person. It took many times before I got lucky to speak with my analyst. But he just said to wait after 4 weeks. so i did wait. and after 4 weeks i tried calling again. but to no avail. and as i really wanted to know what happened to my application and to the docs sent by my school (since i have read somewhere online that the docs got lost or something) i emailed my licensing analyst instead. and told him my concerns and all. and apologized if i am already getting annoying.. and after a few days, a new licensing analyst have emailed me. stating that, she'll be the new licensing analyst to review my credentials and whatnot. and that i have to wait few more weeks. so i waited for about 2 weeks. then i contacted her. i got lucky to spoke with her for the first try of calling. then she said, i have to wait few weeks more (i dont know how many weeks exactly as she did not disclosed it to me) and i asked her if she could assure me that my credentials sent by my school are not lost and just sitting in their waiting desk, waiting to be reviewed. but she said, she could not give me assurances with that. so i thought its kind of a bummer. i mean, it is their responsibility to make sure that all of their applicant's credentials are safe and intact. but anyway, after i made that call, few days letter, i have received a mail from my analyst; asking me for my SSN. and i still can't figure it out what happened to the photocopied of SSN i sent them together with my initial application. and that made me think, that if they can't even take hold a single sheet of paper, how about a massive files of documents and credentials... i know that there is a big and almost a 100% of me getting denied and having to be required to take MS and OB (both theoritical and clinical) but point is, they could just make the agony of waiting short, if one if not qualified they could just tell them right away so that time of waiting for nothing will not be consumed.. i mean i don't mind waiting if it entails having to get the ATT and to sit in for NCLEX.. but anyway, i am not yet losing hope, but i am almost losing it-- kunting kunti nalang. :'( anyone who have just applied ??? what are your updates with regards to your applications? please let me know. and to know applications who have been judged by the CABRN; how many weeks did you get your letter of denial from the date of complition of the requirements? and what are your plans now??? thank you! and God bless.. please do e-mail me to those who wanted to share the same problem [email protected]

any luck with CABON to those who have graduated outside the US?
Hi everyone! so, i applied for the NCLEX RN in the state of Cali since i live here. but i am just trying my luck. i submitted my application last year around May, and got a first response from the analyst after almost 2 months and he was asking for a ton of requirements directly from my school, which includes the Transcripts of records, educational background from, cases, RLE summary and the whatnot. and my school just completed it and have sent it to them just this June and they have received it according to the tracking thing online. so i called my analyst and let him know that the school have already acquired the requirements needed and it was already mailed and received. he said he wont be able to receive it and read it until for about 4-6weeks. and i was like wow!! that is too long.. but anyway, i just want to know if anyone in here have any luck in passing through the CABON despite of the concurrency issue going on?????? i know most of the applicants who graduated outside from the US especially those who have acquired their Nursing degree in the Philippines have been denied. but you know, i just want some positive vibes hahaha because i have too much of the negative ones already.. anyway i am from the batch 2013. thank you! and God bless us! hoping to hear from you all. -jemaeden

CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students
Yeah you really have a good point. Well, that was her way. i do not know for sure personally of what got into her mind or the school itself of why they have done that. Well anyway that's her life. Though maybe it would affect me and the others who will still file, but you know life goes on if we'll get denied. I mean at least i will not regret that i have given it a shot. Hehehehe i just hope she'd pass the exam so she wont reapply again. As for me i will still be submitting my application tomorrow. And though all my hopes are up, i still know that i would only have this slim chance of a .1 % of getting thru the concurrency issue since my cases are just a mess. But i will give an update of how it goes once i submit it. Thank you so much for the knowledge about all this stuff.

CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students
Yeah. I dont know how they have done it. Because i know once u have submitted the cases there is no turning back you cannot change a thing. I just dont know if its true of what she told me. But thats what a word from her. Because the way i look at it, it is really impossible to get thru it by changing things especially if it is in the registrar's hand already.

CA BRN New Requirements For NCLEX RN international students
hi! well i just wanted to share my friend's story. well my friend graduated last April 2014. she did took the PNLE but unfortunately failed. so right when she failed, she quickly processed her NLCEX RN for the golden state (cali) while she was still in the Philippines. She said that was August 2014 when she applied for it, i just don't know how in the world she've done her live scan/ finger printing done when she is out of the country. so she sent her basic application. just weeks affter she submitted her initial application, the cali brn responded to her application, telling her to submit more of the requirements. including her foreign licens, rle manual/clinical booklet/log, copy of passport/visa, ssn, and the other requirements must come fromthe school she have graduated in the philippines. (by the way the mail was addresed here in cali since here mom is in here.) so since she was still in the philippines, she have went to her school and worked on her papers, TOR, CASES and all the whatnots of the cali brn.so she said since her school was all aware with the concurrency issue, her adviser helped her way thru since her cases were not concurrent with the theoretical hours. so inshort, the school have helped her. her school have adjusted the dates of her cases so it will fall with the theory. they didn't think it would work out. so by sept 2014 she went back here in cali, by january this year the cali brn asked her her foreign license, so she wrote a letter that she have taken the PNLE yet failed it.. then the cali brn again asked for more supporting docs from her school such as academic calendar and the schedules of all her duties... her school then responded to it. then unexpectedly and luckily, by march this year she got her elegibility letter from cali brn... so yeah! that's her story.. and i have known someone also who have tried applying the nclex rn here in cali who got denied also and was told to take the ob and med surge again, well she have talked with her analyst she said. her analyst told her that if the school is completely aware with this concurrency issue between cali brn and our schools, then they should have made some actions, such as negotiating or trying to fix the papers of the students since in the philippines the "completion" duty is really rampant due to tons of students specially in the past years. so yeah.. well, as for me, i am still about to submit my application though i have paid already. i wanted to give myself some hopes of getting the magic letter from the cali brn. but i know that i have the 99.9% chance of not getting thru the cali brn's needle.. i know that it would take a miracle to surpass the cali brn. because my cases were not concurrent to my theories. my DR cases were done during my ncm104. hahaha and my OR cases were done and completed when i was already on my final year on my nursing degree. my cases were just mess hahaha. i just wanna laugh my anxiety away. i dont wanna stress myself with this. but i cannot avoid it.. though they say that being denied by the cali brn for the nclex rn doesnt end there, but you know it is really disappointing. i mean we have studied 4 years, and it is a degree, how come we are not elegible? compared to those who have studied here, they have just 2 years, but. how come??!*sigh* well never mind.. i'll just divert my attention right after i submit my application and would just pray.. and find some remedy and other routes in advance.. GOD BLESS to us! and goodnight!

NCLEX-RN in the Empire State (NY)
@justbeachynurse: oh okay! sorry. i was mistaken. so yeah, i am planning to take the licensure exam in NY instead here in CALI since it is nearly impossible to get the ATT because of the concurrency issue. so i have to process the CGFNS first? before i could start doing the IC and child abuse? or i could do that while waiting for my CGFNS to be done scrutinizing and evaluating my credentials? i am really lost, forgive me. i do not know which first to do. i am so occupied in wanting to get this done and over with. but i do understand that it is not that easy for this to be done in a certain span of time. thank you so much!

NCLEX-RN in the Empire State (NY)
hi everyone again! so now that there is no hope for me in getting the ATT when i am done with my NCLEX-RN application here in my home state (CA), I have decided to reroute my plans in applying to another state which is in NY. I have looked at their designated website, but i am too confused of what they have put in there. the infos are seemed to be vogued. or it is just me that i couldn't really comprehend of what is stated in there.. i do somehow understand that before i could apply for their licensure exam i need to take the infection control training and as well as the child abuse seminar. but i am a bit lost of where and how to take it when i am living here in LA. i cannot afford yet to live there before i pass the exam, because cost of living there is too costly to handle. so i am planning to take them if possible online. can i do that? TO THOSE who have applied for NCLEX-RN in NY who is from the Philippines please do tell me and advise me steps by steps on how to apply for NCLEX-RN in the state of New York and the processing time. thank you so much! your comments are highly appreciated :) GOD BLESS US!

NCLEX-RN in California
hey everyone! i am a newbie. been reading all the post lately. well, i am just giving this a shot-- this asking thing. but i hope i have posted on the right category. so anyway, i have earned my nursing degree program in the Philippines i am a nurse back home. i graduated year 2013. but my original batch was supposedly 2012. i passed the PNLE year 2014. So now that i am back here in the US, since i am a dual C. (both am and fil) i will be applying for NCLEX-RN probably by next week this month of MAY. I am aware by the concurrency issue. But still want to pursue in applying. i know i would be doomed and be upset pretty sure once the evaluation is done. because of the whole concurrency issue. and i know for sure as of the moment that it would be 99.9% sure that i am not eligible to take the exam. But i am hoping and looking forward in reading/listening/knowing some stories which has the same situation as i do have now but was able to surpass the concurrency issue (whether or not the BRN have overlooked the applications/transcripts and all that). Because someone i know told me that she has a batch mate during high school but have earned her nursing degree program at University of Santo Thomas in the Philippines, got the eligibility letter by the BRN after 4 months of submitting the application. and she was batch 2011, if i am not mistaken. i do hope i could find anyone like me who is going through this the same dilemma.. and i do also hope to hear your stories. and i as well look forward to knowing successful stories in applying for the nclex rn application and was successful enough to be eligible to take the test without even having to go back to school to take the lacking units of subjects or the clinical hours. thank you so much!
