  1. I spoke with someone this week and they told me that there is usually a few spaces open and I would be able to transfer without starting over.
  2. Hi, I'm currently attending a community college in Tallahassee (TCC) and I am thinking about transferring to a community college in Jacksonville (FSCJ) due to family and money reasons. My parents could really use me moving to jacksonville as they are paying for my apartment and want to retire and need to sell it, my sister lives in jacksonville and will let me move in with her and her boyfriend for 300 a month, whereas in tallahassee I'll have to pay around 400-600 for a decent place. TCC has a passing rate of 66% but an nclex passing rate of 96%, fscj has a passing rate of 83% and an NCLEX passing rate of 81%, so its a stark difference. My first semester I got a 92% and a 96% on the HESI, so I think I have a good chance of getting in during my third semester, please let me know any advice or thoughts you have on the matter. To transfer or not to transfer?
  3. I need help!! I went to nursing school once and failed the first semester, now I'm going at it again and my anxiety of failing again is through the roof. I'm trying to go at it at a completely different angle now, so one tactic I'm doing is reading the material before class, going home and skimming while colour coding with highlighters. I then go through the chapter and write all the definitions, signs/symptoms and interventions, and little notes I thought were important on notecards. The problem is I have a huge stack of notecards and it's only week one... am I doing too much? Or should I keep this up along with re writing notes and listening to lectures until exam 1 comes... help me allnurses.... your're my only hope.
  4. Should we make a Facebook group for future study groups and questions ?
  5. I just created the facebook group, join and spread the word to anyone you may have met today that isn't on this website! :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/1662599443980864/ If you can't see the link the title of the group is TCC Nursing Class of Fall 2017
  6. Anyone interested in forming a facebook group since not all people are on allnurses, that way we can stay connected during the spring semester like the professors were saying today?
  7. The email says to just read and revise and then ask any questions tomorrow at orientation, I'm bringing mine tomorrow just in case!
  8. That is through the bookstore, I'm researching the least expensive options and am still coming up to 400 ish
  9. I'm assuming it'll be out tomorrow I calculated we'll be paying around 500 for books this semester!
  10. Did you declare your major as a 2103 nursing student?
  11. I contacted Mrs Farley about the email and she said she received my email (all I did was respond to the acceptance letter) , so if you did that you should be good :)
  12. I have my military records being sent over and then recent vaccinations being done here so I am hoping that they don't mind having multiple things of paperwork /:
  13. Has anyone contacted them to see if the email reply was good enough to secure our spot for spring?
