UPMC Shadyside SON
I would love to hear feedback from anyone who's went/currently going to Shadyside SON! I live about two hours away from Pittsburgh, so I'm planning on relocating. I was was wondering what the typical schedule is like? I was planning on taking support courses before hand, but decided to just wait and do them with the whole program instead. Is there a shuttle that takes you to the college for the science classes or does the professor come to the SON? What's the first semester like? Do you have clinicals? How many people are usually in each class? If anyone has any advice or tips, I would love to hear them! I'm trying to get as much information as possible

Upmc Shadyside
Hi guys! I would really like to know if anyone has had a good experience with upmc shadyside's nursing program. I'm really interested in going there, and would love all the info I could get on it. I was also wondering if you have to have both a & p 1 & 2 done because they don't accept just the first one by itself? If not, and I have to take all the classes with the college their associated with, is there a shuttle or anything to get there or do the college professors come to the school to teach you? I'm a little confused about how that works lol. Also if anyone could tell me what a typical week is like, I'd appreciate it! I would probably have to relocate, so I'm wondering what is the safest areas to look for an apartment at. And lastly, how many people are in the classes usually? What about clinical time? Is most of the clinical done there, or do you have to go to the other hospitals? Is transportation provided for that or do you drive yourself? Thanks in advance!

What was your experience with any upmc hospital school of nursing?
Hi there! I'm new here but I love this group! So I've been looking into shadyside's nursing program but I'm open to any upmc school. I like that the program is a lot quicker than most colleges. I would love to hear how your experience was. I do have a few questions.. 1) how big are the classes? I have heard there is classes of over 100 and that concerns me a little. I feel like it may make it hard to learn with that many in one room. 2) where do you do clinicals at? Are they all at the hospital your going to school at or are they at different places? 3) I am going have my pre reqs done before I start, so what would my typical day be like? What's the weekly schedule look like for a person that's full time? 4) are there any polices against tattoos? 5) how hard was the admission process?
