  1. L&D BSN RN interested in joining USAF

    Hello all, I am currently going into my 6th year of clinical nursing with a specialty in L&D. I have wanted to join the Airforce since I can remember but chose to wait as I was starting a family. I have no military back ground and have no idea where to start. In reading posts, I've seen things like "wait list" and "alternate" I guess my thoughts were that if I were joining as an officer to work in my specialty that the need would be out there.. Is there not a need? Also, I've heard I can only work places woth a Labor and Delivery unit and wondered where some of those are located. I would love to someone who has done like me and worked first then joined. I dont want to go reserve. Anything helps, thanks so so much!
