Hi, I am currently in a PMHNP program and I am trying to get to know a little bit more about the practice environment for reimbursements from insurance companies. I will be graduating soon and I want to go the private practice route. The credentialing process is a bit overwhelming so I had just a couple general questions. I understand the practice environments differ widely by state as do insurance company policies, so my questions are only directed towards Washington and Oregon independent practitioners. Do any of the insurance companies you contract with require a supervising or collaborating physician? If so which ones? I am specifically looking at Regence Blue Cross and Premera, and Medicare. And how long did it take you to finalize your credentialing? Thank you so much...
