  1. I know this thread is a little old, but I got in for fall 2016! I followed it during the application period, but was on another thread that kind-of died out... I requested to join the FB group!! See y'all soon!
  2. Hey! just wanted to inform y'all of my acceptance, i got the phone call yesterday!!! I'm excited haha I can't wait! thanks for all the encouragement and I wish the best for both of you!!!!!! :)
  3. Thanks for that! I haven't heard anything yet, but it's only been like since the 9th of this month that I got my "alternate" letter. It'll probably take some time. I think I understand this chart correctly, pending status for the ABSN program is 21 (total) and accepted offers (26)? so the others are defers or declines? lol then the final section is for those not offered... I'm so nervous! lol no "alternate" category haha so idk how long the list is... I hope it all comes through though!!! Thanks again :) :)
  4. So IF I don't hear back from them soon, I might as well assume it's a no. I will contact the coordinator and apply for next spring. I have tremendous amount of hope into the alternate selection, but due to not knowing how many, nor my rank... It's tough lol bc I know everything can go the opposite of how I would like. Thanks for all the information, between the LONG strand of posts on here when you were applying to now... It's amazing someone cares this much about seeing others succeed! I tutor bio and chem students and I like seeing them accomplish things. It's nice to know someone else is out there who enjoys seeing others succeed it too! If I get in, I will surely be posting to this to inform you!
  5. Thanks for the encouragement! Although it's all beyond my control... If I don't get in, I'm going to be applying for the spring! I have an application in at another school, but won't hear back until the end of the month. Even if I get in there, I'm probably going to sit out, and try MUSC again. That's my dream program, I went to CofC, I LOVE Charleston. :)
  6. Well.. I got my letter today informing me that I was selected as an alternate idk how it all works, because there is apparently no "ranking" of alternates. I hope you get in! And Mocapoca good luck in your final semester there! :)
  7. I completely understand! lol I'm only taking 1 course as of the moment, and it's pretty simple. Dimensional Analysis for Meds, it's an introductory nursing math course (I guess is the best way to put it). I wish I could update my resume, I was informed a few weeks ago of an opening in the OR at the hospital I am at now, and was approved to transfer! I will be leaving Wound Care as of Monday. But that's awesome! Any experience I think is a great thing, and they love it too! There were openings at the hospital that I work at but I'm in a program here already, and I don't see a need to learn something new and work at it until the summer IF I get accepted. The anticipation is killing me I read a few threads on here and people got acceptance letters about 7 weeks after applying... Some called, but I'm too scared to do that haha.
  8. I hope so! It'd be a dream come true. I hope you do too! & That's awesome! I just applied for a scribe position recently, just to get more involved in a clinical setting. How do you like it so far? Oh and if you don't mind me asking... are you in any classes right now? If so, does your page say: "partial transcript received" ?
  9. I was doing hours when I was in high school for CNA but got mono at the end and couldn't complete the course but besides that, I volunteer at my local hospital. The last couple years it's just busy work, such as: paperwork, scribe work, etc. Nothing real clinical but it's in a clinical setting. I don't have a bachelors, I am a year shy of one though. I don't think it really matters if you have a degree or not, I've read on here where people had a degree and got in or didn't. It's just a matter of how "well rounded" you are. OH and I hope my references were as good as I thought they were! haha
  10. Thanks! I feel like they're some-what mediocre, although, it is a solid B+ / A- GPA on the levels they're checking. I'm just worried something is going to hold me back, between the essay or resume' and clinical hours. :/ I have seen so many posts on here where everyone's stats were amazing but clinical WORK is a MUST, apparently. Volunteer work just doesn't seem to cut it, but I think you get points for it. Have you contacted them since applying? I know it's only been 4 weeks since the application closed, but I check the University Application Progress page constantly! haha It says the same thing every. single. time.
  11. Hey Jada! My name is Lucas, I've applied to the same program as you! I live in SC, actually, just about an hour north of Charleston! I could've applied to the program for this spring, but decided to wait, and took a few extra science courses to boost my GPA. My current stats are: Cumulative: 3.4, Science: 3.5, Pre-req: I think is 3.6 range, but don't hold me to that, because I have no idea how they calculate that one! Lol. I have a ton of volunteer hours, but no actual clinical work... which I hope doesn't kill my chances of getting in. I also tutored students in BIO courses such as A&P, Micro, Intro/Cell and Chemistry, which was mostly general. Chem was my favorite subject out of everything I took! haha! Anyway, I wish you the best on getting in! I hope to hear back from you on here!
