  1. So...sorry to poke a thread that's three months old now, but I gotta ask: What the hell are you ladies wearing to Orientation on Tuesday?
  2. The AHA website is zero help. But, looking at that link I sent earlier, it looks like it follows the 2010 guidelines that the AHA set. May wanna check with UAH and see if it'll suffice for what we need.
  3. Uhg, I just read that it has to be offered through the AHA. Hold please lol
  4. How about this one? Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers | Huntsville, AL | American Red Cross
  5. You can take it with me at Huntsville Hospital if you want. Corporate University holds two classes a month for CPR certification.
  6. Just started chapter 8. And we haven't skipped any D:
  7. Elementary statistics, Math 265 at Calhoun. I'm taking it online and I can't help but feel like that's one of the major reasons I'm just not getting it. I saw a guy at the farmer's market on Saturday with an entire cart full of cantaloupes. Like...there were at least twenty of those bastards. And the only thing I could think to myself is "I should pay attention, this is so bizarre that it'll probably get used as a test question on Tuesday."
  8. You just perfectly described how I feel about stats. Holy God, that class is going to kill me. I'm aiming for a C, and I'm a 3.9 student. D:
  9. Like I said, my friend got in off of the wait list last year with short notice. If anybody doesn't pass a prerequisite they're currently enrolled in, they can't keep their spot. Or maybe something comes up and they decide not to go. Stuff happens!
  10. It'll be okay! Just call tomorrow, I doubt anything will fill up if you do it first thing in the morning.
  11. It didn't even ask me for one! Yeah...sounds like you need to make some calls. =/ The Thursday afternoon one is 12-3. I signed up for that one with Mary Bonilla. I'm not sure if it matters who you choose, but she has a fantastic rating on RateMyProfessor, so I went with it.
  12. Also, according to my sheet there's no code required. You should be good to go if you get it all set up in one shot.
  13. I talked to (NAME REDACTED) Thursday morning or afternoon?
  14. I'm about to! Anybody wanna coordinate our clinical time?
  15. YES! Congratulations!
  16. My friend got in from the wait list last semester. Don't fret!
  17. Oh, I think I have you beat on that front. I flunked out of college in 2006 with completely embarrassing 1.8 GPA. I was so stupid to pull the stunts I did, and I've been paying the piper for it ever since. I've held a 4.0 for the past two years, and my cumulative GPA will finally be back up to a respectable 3.0 after this semester. If I can get in, I'm sure you can too. It's allllllllll about your prerequisite grades! People change, and we're not the same terrible students we once were.
  18. Super valuable! Everybody here has been so awesome through this wait. I can't wait to buckle down with you guys and get to work! Be sure to post as soon as you're all done celebrating and let us know!
  19. YES! I just got mine! I'm in!
  20. Oh wait...I'm an idiot. There's a PM feature, right? We'll just coordinate a meetup at ori. I r smrt, I promise....
  21. I'm in! Well...I mean I'm in if I'm in. That damn letter is taking its sweet time.... Now we'll just have to figure out a way to recognize each other at nursing orientation, since it's against the TOS to identify ourselves, right? We could...umm...I don't know. Print out our avatars and wear them like buttons? Because that wouldn't be weird or anything.
  22. Yeah...I'm good on all that. I kinda feel like your GPA will speak for itself if you're applying for an advanced degree. I can see how the thesis course would be helpful, though!
  23. And yes, you are correct: none of your transfer courses will affect your GPA at UAH. The moment you walk through Charger Central for orientation, your new GPA is a whopping 0.0
  24. The honors college really doesn't do anything for you once you're in the nursing program. The new Nursing Honors College that they just established basically serves as a guarantee to incoming freshmen that when their two years of prerequisites are completed, they'll have a slot held for them in upper division. Once last year's freshmen get to next year, it's going to get even harder for transfer students to snag a seat. Be glad we missed that! There are some stipulations that go along with it. Students have to maintain a 3.5 I think? There are merit scholarships that go along with it too, but I'm not sure how much they're worth. The general honors college has its own dorm building, and there are some prereq classes that have an honors section, but I have no idea how they differ from the normal ones. Nor do I particularly care, since I live off campus.
  25. I just do office work. Scheduling appointments, answering phones, checking patients in/out, that kinda thing. I'm hoping that it'll roll into an RN position when I graduate. IF I EVER GET MY LETTER AND GET STARTED I MEAN.
