Yes, you can take the prerequisites at AVC and apply to COC. You will just need to submit your official transcripts from AVC to COC. Some Tips to increase your chances in getting accepted: 1.Make sure you aim to get A's in your prerequisites. 2.Make sure you understand the material taught in your prerequisites(you will need to know how to apply this information in nursing school.) 3. Study for the TEAS exam at least 3 months prior so that you can score well. 4. Get experience in the field by getting your *CNA*, working as a caregiver, and/or volunteering in the healthcare industry. 5. Take as many classes that need to be taken to receive an associates prior to entering the nursing program(an associates is needed to receive your RN license) -Second Semester COC Nursing Student

I went on Friday, May 1st around 12:30pm and received my results via email on Monday, May 4th at 3:52 pm. (And mine was clear) But I also read that on their website that it was only supposed to do take 4 hours. Maybe if you call before you go and ask when you would receive your results you will get a more accurate response for your situation. But I do know you can receive via email, fax, or in person.

@lambchops They only accept walk-ins, I tried making an appointment and they said that they don't make appointments for drug tests which is convenient. @darling24 I have a fire card that I got as a requirement to enter the CNA program.(2 years ago & they are good for 4 years.) the class was like 6 hours but we spent like 1/2 of it watching a fire safety video.

I already did just about everything that is due on June 1st. I just need to pay Kaplan. I already did the 10 panel drug test at the U.S. Healthworks in Valencia.(They did have it; I took it on the day of orientation.Make sure you print out the flyer they gave us for the 10 panel drug test because that is the only way they can give you the discounted price.) I have not bought my uniform or shoes because they are not due to have until the first day of class which is August 24. How are things going for you? Have you purchased the uniforms yet?

Congratulation @cvsimpson78! I am happy that we will get to be attending the program together! I am so excited that I got accepted. @darling24, you still have a chance in getting in! From what I have read on this and previous COC nursing program forums is that not everyone accepts their invitation and 2 of the alternates are chosen to sit in on classes just in case people decide to drop out. (And the chances are very high that 1 or 2 people will drop out.)

Hello Everyone! I decided to see if I could find a blog in regards to the COC Fall 2015 Nursing application and I found one. �� I wanted to get an idea of what other applicants' statistics are to see what my chances could be. I will also share mine: TEAS V: 82.7% Core Biology GPA: 3.3 Pre-requisite GPA: 3.0 Overall GPA: 3.2 Best of luck to everyone!
