PDX apartment search
Hey all! I'll be moving to PDX area to work at a hospital in Beaverton. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on apartments. About me: Budgeting for $31.50 base pay 36 hours/week and pet friendly! I'd like to live in Kenton because I have some friends there but I'm open to suggestions and well aware of the traffic situation! But I'll be working 12's so I won't be in the 9-5 traffic. I'm new to the area, as well as this type of budget (I currently live in Tallahassee, FL where the price for studios start at half the price in PDX and there's no state income tax, so it's a whole new situation for me). Thanks! :)

Psych Nursing in Portland, OR
Hello everyone! I'm about to be a new graduate RN (ADN) - I'm moving to Portland, OR and looking for psychiatric nursing positions. I have 4+ years of experience as a mental health technician. I've already contacted one hospital there and got a bite - they told me to go ahead and apply but I can't get hired until I have the actual OR RN (which is what I expected). I've worked for that company before and they seemed very interested in me. My question: does anyone know anything about the psych inpatient facilities up there and the pros and cons of each?

New FL RN grad - moving to OR soon after graduation!
Yes, definitely planning on starting that! Do you know if they look favorably on you if you're currently in a program? Thanks for all the great advice!

New FL RN grad - moving to OR soon after graduation!
Hello all! I was wondering if anyone could shed some light for a brand-new baby RN graduate moving from FL to OR. I'll be graduating this May 2017 from a Florida ADN nursing program. My family and I will be moving to OR soon after I'm finished... would it be advisable to take the NCLEX in FL and register here first? And then register in OR? Or can it be done simultaneously? I've heard from numerous people that FL's RN is easily transferrable to any other state... not sure why. Any advice or experience moving to OR as a relatively new RN is appreciated! I'm an experienced behavioral health technician (4 years) and I am VERY flexible with whatever nursing jobs are available. Much love, RMM86

Tallahassee Community College Fall 2015
Hey I was wondering if anyone here works at TMH or CRMC? I have two job interviews set up and wanted to get a feel for each hospital, and also wanted to see if anyone here is working at either hospital during nursing school. Trying to set reasonable goals and budgeting, blerg!

I wrote back to accept the slot but they didn't reply back, so I started another dialogue up with Neissa to make sure she knew I accepted. :)

Chipola College
Tallahassee community college? No. It's pretty reputable. It has a new BSN program but I'm applying for the 2 year adn.

Chipola College
I'm applying there, too. My first choice is TCC because they have a really good NCLEX pass rate but I've heard wonderful things about Chipola from a friend who is currently in the program. It's only a year and a half, and they really work with you on your schedule. I think it's a newer, smaller program so they are more flexible. The fact that it's only a year and a half really makes me reconsider making it my first choice! I currently live in Panama City but I have family in Tallahassee or I'd be willing to commute to Chipola because I've just heard horrible things about GCSC's program. I'm surprised there's not more things on Chipola on this website. Perhaps because it's a smaller, newer school? In any case, good luck to you! :)

Very true. I tend to lock down hard when it comes to school so I think it'll be okay. :)
