  1. First of, thanks for responding to my post. I spoke to an attorney today and he stated that once the record is sealed I can put that i do not have a conviction. He also stated that because the case was withheld adjudication there was no conviction. If the application had asked whether or not I had a sealed or an expunged record I would have to indicate yes and explain the particulars of the offense. In this instance it specifically asked if I have any convictions which in my case would be no. Once they perform a background check my record is sealed unless they are a government agency for example The State Board of Nursing they would have to open a sealed record to see the specifications of the arrest. In my case it was a minor offense but it was still an offense and the decision would be up to them to make as to whether or not my license would be approved.
  2. Hello everyone. I have a question and was wondering if anyone had an answer. I am currently waiting to be accepted in the nursing program at broward college and had a general question. If someone has a sealed or an expunged record, how should they answer the question on the FDLE form that asks have they ever been convicted of a crime. Should the person answer yes or no. I've contacted the school and people keep redirecting me to different people that can't seem to give me a straight answer. Please help, thanks.
